"That's fine."

Alex merely eyed her while Charla simply waited to hear what she had to say.

"Okay then," she swallowed the sudden lump that formed in her throat. "Charla, where you by chance..." she hesitated, recalling what Sam had told her not long after the indecent in school with Charla burning her own underwear.

"I think... I think there might be something more to this then just her blackouts..."

"I know this will sound intrusive but... Charla were you, abused in any way?"

Charla's expression change was slight, her eyes had widened just faintly from shock before she closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead and sighed. "What do you mean by abused? There's a vast variety to that word. If you mean was I physically hurt by my father, then the answer is no. He never hurt me, if anything he was the one trying to protect me, it's why he taught me self-defence."

"I don't mean it like that, when Sam came and spoke to me after the incident involving your underwear she said it was a sign of something. That someone was abused."

A sudden throbbing pain erupted from her skull causing her to wince from it, the pain was far worse then before. "And?"

Alex's eyes narrowed. "Were you being sextually abused by someone you know?"

The pain in the back of her skull intensified to a greater degree. "I..." in that moment pain felt as though something inside her skull had snapped. She let out a pained gasp of shock before grasping the sides of her head and falling to the floor. What was this? Nothing like this had ever happened before.

"Charla!" Alex quickly rushed to her side and helped her stay upright. "Hey! Charla what's wrong? Charla!"

Damn it... Charla thought, her vision fading as Alex's voice began to drift further and further away. Sorry Alex...

Alex stilled when Charla didn't respond and went limp in her arms. Instantly panic slowly began to rise in her chest. Recalling how her own mother had fallen one time and didn't get up again.

No, no, no, don't panic. Alex told herself. Charla said it herself that she suffers chronic blackouts due to stress. This had to be it, but it's so different from the first time. Is that normal for her? Alex then gently placed Charla down on the floor and leaned her head down to hear Charla's steady breathing, and then checked her pulse on both Charla's neck and wrist. Both were even and steady, a good sign but still, what in the world was that?

Just then Charla groaned and slowly opened her eyes, wincing at the light before looking to Alex. "Oh... well this is awkward."

Relief ran though Alex as she smiled to Charla when she sat up. "Your awake that's good. You nearly scared me half to death when you just collapsed like that, are you really okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, head hurts a bit but that's normal after something like this."

Concern filled Alex's face, as much as she knew Charla wouldn't like this the option it still had to be thrown out in the open. "Hey, maybe we should go to a doctor to get you looked at, just to be safe."

"No," she said shooting it down quickly before stand up as if nothing had happened, her gaze looking around as if she was trying to get a feel for the room that she was in. "I'm fine for now. I just need to get home and rest. If I find it get's any worse then I'll go but not now."
