8. The problem is that even my friends support the Prime Minister.

I don't get it.
Why?
Why?
Why?
Why, does the little number 52% pop up next to the words 'Cabinet approval rating'??

How, just, what, how!?

People, I know, most of you haven't even gone to university before, (The percentage of high school students going to university is around 50% in Japan. A few decades ago it was around 30%.) much less studied Law or Politics, but I think understanding what the CONSTITUTION IS FOR is something everyone should be able to do.

The constitution is supposed to control our country, to stop our Cabinet, Parliament from having too much power.
WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE OUR PRIME MINISTER POWER, PEOPLE!??
HOW CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE'S IMPLYING!?

When I tried to explain to one of my friends that one of his plans to make sure 'everyone has a job' doesn't mean everyone who wants a job, she didn't get it.

She thought that was a good thing.

No.
No no no no no no no no no.

What about mothers and fathers that have to look after little children?
Do you see our prime minister making any plans to ensure that every child gets into kindergarten or preschool?

No.

Do you know, that most preschools and kindergartens only look after the children until 6 o'clock?

No. She didn't.

Do you understand what that means?
It means that they have to find a job that lets you bring your child to work, or even if they manage to get their child into preschool or kindergarten, they have to make sure their job allows them to leave work at at least 5 o'clock.

Fat chance.

Jobs in Japan are different from Western countries.
We don't apply for a job for just a few years, it's all or nothing.
You get into a company, you work there until you die.

We don't have 9 - 5 jobs.
I didn't even know that word existed until one of my foreign friends told me.
Our jobs usually start from 8 o'clock or 8:30, and end at 8 o'clock at night, TOPS.
My sister works at L'OREAL Japan, and she gets to leave at 9 THIRTY.

DO YOU STILL NOT GET WHY I'M BAFFLED.

OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE.
