DISCOVERED AND DETAINED

Chapter 3

Oh my God, this is going to be so huge. I had been successful in convincing Mitch to give me the flash drive with the videos but that's not the only thing, he also gave me a memory card with a whole other bunch of things related to those business men. After I left the coffee shop I has hurried back home so that I had a better opportunity to watch the videos or read over the information without any interruption or risk of anyone else seeing them just yet. I've locked myself in my room as I began to watch each and every video and other information that I had received from Mitch. By the time I was finished with them I was literally scared out of my mind from the things I have learnt. Most of the unsolved crimes and disappearances that has happened over the past years were somehow all linked to each other. At first I just thought that it was a couple of business men being involved in a little illegality and wanting to stay on top by being all powerful and influential but this was more than what. The information that I now possess is enough to put
a lot of people behind bars for good and would probably help with the crime rate as I'm sure everything is probably linked to this but the biggest information I've found out is the one that shook me to the core. These men weren't just taking part in occasional illegal activities, these men were all part of a mafia and the leader of one of the largest was the Cavelli's. Seriously, how on earth did Mitch come across and was able to gain this information?

This story would be the biggest story to hit the headlines, this would be known to possibly every country in the world as the story of all times. This story would make me not only journalist of the year but of the century. Currently I doubt that there could be any other story that would ever top this one for years. Imagine the headlines: 'Prominent and Influential business men responsible for major crimes'

'Business moguls involved with the mafia'

'Cavelli mafia leader'.

This would be huge and to be the one to bring that story I'd became too famous and rich. At first learning this information had me excited to write it but the more I thought about it, could I really do this? This was the mafia we're talking about. I seriously have issues believing that this is all real, I mean is the mafia really a thing that is still active now? I thought that this was something that had been done away with from in the 80's. If I write this story would I even survived long enough to reaped the rewards of top journalist and even get to share the profit with Mitch as promised? I mean if this mafia thing was real how am o ever going to know whose involved from who isn't? And mafias do have hitmen don't they? And the job of hitmen is to take out whoever is a problem to them. Writing this story and outing some of these men and their group would definitely put a hit out for me, they'd definitely come for me and my family. And even if I do write the story and wish to remain as an anonymous reporter how can I trust that someone from one of the media houses won't be undercover and apart of the mafia too, who would know I'm the one who write it and tell them so that they come after me. I can't ever remember a single day that the decision to write a story that could be really epic
has me contemplating so much. I had these information and evidence so I should probably give them to the police first right? That way they could deal with the situation how it really should be dealt with. What's the use of telling this story to the world with hopes of getting glory and fame but to lose my life over it? It would be better if I just let the police in on all this first then write it, you know that way they couldn't really come after me because I was just doing my job right? And if anything the police would be able to protect me right?

I finally came to the conclusion of bringing the attention of the police to these new discovery. There is no was I could possibly not let the authorities know about this. These men doesn't deserve to be free, living the high life when they are in fact criminals. Like how is that fair? Just because they may have more money and power than most of us doesn't mean they should take advantage of it and get away with the wrongs and illegal stuff they have done. I was going to let the police know about this before I write the story to let the world know about them. If I am able to bring out this story to the public after letting the police knows about it then if anything should happened to me or my family after then they'd know exactly who the responsible people were, I just couldn't let this go like that. I'd be worst off than those criminals if I don't tell the police what I've learnt.
