"You are in so much trouble, Kim Jongin," the duo troublemakers, Joy and Yeri, sing songed as they passed by him.

Jongin, sort of offended that the two were speaking informally to him, was too preoccupied about why he was in trouble.

"What do you mean? Where's Seulgi?" Jongin questioned the two mini-Satans before they could run off and cause mayhem.

"With Irene in the SM Rookies dressing room," Yeri giggled as she linked arms with Joy and skipped away to talk to the Super Junior members.

Jongin sighed as he turned the corner, standing in front of the SM Rookies dressing room door. Luckily, there was a mirror on the wall, so Jongin could at least make sure he looked presentable and not too sweaty before he walked in.

Knocking on the door before he opened it, he was soon flooded with a bunch of rookies greeting him with bows. Jisung, his favorite SM Rookie, was nearby, and Jongin couldn't help but ruffle his hair.

"Kai, are you here to visit us, too?" Jisung grinned at him. Jongin could only nod although coming here was not his true intention.

"You did a great job out there," Jongin complimented the boy before he decided to stick to finding Seulgi first. He walked into the other room where he was able to spot the older SM Rookie boys chatting with the Red Velvet girls, but that wasn't what caught his attention.

Seulgi was on Taeyong's lap.

The two looked pretty close, and Jongin knows he shouldn't be angry that Seulgi has guy friends (she lets him have female friends, so it should be okay, but he doesn't feel okay), but seeing his girlfriend sit on another guy's lap wasn't a very pleasant sight.

The group was joking around, and it hurts Jongin to see Taeyong whispering in her ear and Seulgi smiling so happily afterwards. He doesn't want to cause a scene, but before he could leave, he's been spotted by one of the boys and a moment after, all of them are standing up and bowing at him, but all he could see is Seulgi, a knowing twinkle in her eyes.

"Sorry to interrupt, but could I see Seulgi for a moment?" Jongin grins at them and everyone turns to look at her. She's taking her time to stand up, Taeyong is whispering something to her again, and she bids goodbye to Irene until she is finally following Jongin out of the dressing room. He leads them to the staircase for some privacy, and makes sure no one else is among them. He then finally looks at her.

She's hurt.

He could read it in her eyes. But he doesn't even know what he did wrong!

"What was that?" Jongin tries to remain calm, but oh God, he's hurt, too.

"What was what?" Seulgi is stoic. It's obvious she's picking out her words carefully.

"Don't play this game with me, Seul," Jongin's seriousness makes Seulgi tense up. "Why were you on his lap?"

Seulgi shrugs, "We're just friends, you know that."

"Is it so hard for you to show me some respect as your boyfriend?" His outburst slices through the air and leaves the atmosphere silent.

Seulgi clenches her fist as her tears are about to fall, "What about you? The whole concert today, you just ignored me! I know we're trying to keep this relationship a secret, but whenever you saw me, you just ran off in the opposite direction. Do you know how much that hurts? To see the love of your life completely ignoring you like you don't even exist?"

Jongin is still. He wants to approach her with a hug, but she pushes him away. She's avoiding his eyes.

"S-seulgi, I never realized..."

She shakes her head, "It's okay, Jongin. If you want to ignore me, that's fine. Just forget what I even said." Seulgi tries to leave, but Jongin couldn't let things end like this. He quickly wraps his arms around her, engulfing her in a back hug. His chin rests perfectly on her shoulders, and his heart drops when her tears fall down and splash onto his arms.

"I'm such a jerk, Seulgi, I know. I shouldn't have been ignoring you like that. I just...I don't want you to get hurt. After Baekhyun's relationship was revealed, there were so many anti-fans -- not just for him but for Taeyeon as well. I don't want that happen to you. You finally got your chance to debut, I don't want to be the reason to take away your happiness. I was just being too careful. I'm really, really sorry, Seul. Forgive me?"

Seulgi's lips curved into a smile as she nodded, accepting his apology. The two reversed their hug, allowing Seulgi to hold him tight.

Despite all the hardships and misunderstandings, it always felt the best when they were together, holding each other.

"But you're not off the hook, either, young missy. What's up with you and Taeyong?" Jongin raised an eyebrow.

"There's nothing going on. We're totally, completely friends. I just...felt a little mad at you after the concert, and I told Joy and Yeri to tell you to look for me."

"You set the whole thing up, didn't you?" Jongin couldn't believe the whole mastermind behind everything was Seulgi. She was never the evil genius type, but he still found it attractive. Everything about Seulgi was attractive.

"Maybe," Seulgi grinned innocently at him.

"And you wanted me to see how close you were with Taeyong so I'd get jealous," Jongin crossed his arms as he watched his girlfriend bat her eyelashes.

"Well, in my defense, when you get jealous, you get this look on your face that I find very appealing," Seulgi poked his cheek.

"But I hate getting jealous. There shouldn't be anyone allowed to hold you but me," Jongin stated matter-of-factly as he wrapped his arms around the petite girl for another hug.

"Don't you trust me?" Seulgi tilted her head up to try to look at his face. Darn his long legs.

"I trust you. But I still hate seeing other guys around you," Jongin made a face which Seulgi laughed at.

After they heard the staff pass by the staircase door, they reluctantly released each other.

"We should probably go."

"Yeah. We should," Jongin knew that was the biggest lie ever. He definitely wanted to stay and just be with Seulgi, but unfortunately, being an idol meant schedules. Lots and lots of them.

Before Seulgi turned the door knob, she turned back to look at him. "Jongin?"

"Hm?"

"I kind of don't hate you."

He broke out into a smile.

"I love you, too."

He's had his times of insecurities, but with Seulgi, he was willing to give her everything in a heartbeat.
