February 11
Don't trust him.
He'll hurt you.
A scream can be heard from behind the door.
A boy's scream.
"Dad! Stop! Please!"
Crying.
Pleading.
Wishing the monster would stop.
At every cry, I cover my ears, but the sound breaks through.
I wince at every cruel word that is spoken.
The screaming rings in my ears.
Silence.
Then sirens.
They break the door down.
They take him.
And finally,
I feel safe.
