I've been crying in my bed for about 10 minutes now. Why? You ask. I have no idea. I'm just a mess.
I pull out my cigarette packet and go around the back of house,p. My room has a door leading outside so it's helpful for my smoke time. I light the smoke and inhale the strong feeling. Relief flows all through my body.
I close my eyes and just stand there for a while. I'm suddenly interrupted by a familiar voice.
"I didn't know you smoked" Toddy says with a strange face.
There goes any chance at all I had with him.
"Well, just when I'm stressed" I snap back, feeling defensive.
"Woah, I didn't mean it like that. I just didn't know" he says with a little laugh at the end.
"Yeah well I do, just don't tell anyone thanks, especially Scotty" I mumble the last part.
"Am I the only one that knows?" He asks wirh a curious look.
"No, Heath knew since the moment I moved in. We're smoke buddies" I say with a weak smile.
"Oh. More than just smoke buddies I'm sure" he says quite annoyed.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked acting confused. Though I knew damn well what he meant.
"You obviously like each other" he mumbles while kicking the ground.
"Me? Like Heath more then a bro? Toddy that would never happen! Trust me, it's just not right" I say staring at him directly.
"Really?" He asks happily.
"Really" I reply. I take a big whiff of my cigarette. "Plus, I like someone else" I smile at him.
I throw my cigarette on the ground and stomp it out. I walk away, into my room and finish the usual cycle. Brushing my teeth and mouthwash. I spray myself with a strong perfume and sit on my bed while thinking.
Does Toddy like me? It seemed like he did. I suddenly feel happier then I was before. Not relieved like a cigarette would do to me, but actually happy.
I haven't felt happy in a while.
