Today is the sixth year Katniss and I have been together and
I am going to propose but my disease is spreading and I only
have two more months to live and I'm hoping Katniss will say
yes, so I will be happily married when I die.
"Peeta, darling. Katniss is here" my mom says opening my bedroom door and I nod sliding my journal under my pillow and Katniss walks in and sits on the bed next to me and she smiles and I smile back
"I've got something to tell you" she states quite excited
"I've got something to ask you" I reply
"You go first. I want to save mine for last" she says and I smile and reach into my pocket taking the box out
"Katniss, we've been together since our last year of high school and now I'm asking. Katniss Elizabeth Everdeen, will you do me the honour of being my wife and will you marry?" I propose while getting on my knee and she nods smiling brightly
"Of course I will!" And I smile sliding the ring on her finger and we kiss deeply
"Now tell me your news" I smile and she mirrors my smile
"Peeta... I'm pregnant" she says placing my hand on her small bump and I smile down at her stomach but then frown, I look at her with sad eyes
"What's wrong?" She asks
"I went to the hospital yesterday. They said I'll only have two months maximum to survive..." I brake down slowly and tears start falling from her face
"Don't cry baby. Please"
"How do you expect me not to cry? I'm only ten weeks pregnant and by then I'll only be three months along. Our baby won't have a father" she says tears still falling and I sigh hugging her as she cries on my shoulder
"Hey. When's your holiday to Rome?" I ask
"In about two weeks" she sniffles
"Well then, we'll make the best of our time together and when you come back seeing as you'll only be gone for a week" I explain and she nods and lays her head on my shoulder
"What would you call him or her?" I ask
"Well. For a boy I've always liked the name Samuel Alexander and for a girl Faith Sarah" I admit and she smiles
"I love those names, Samuel or Faith it is" she replies and I kiss her cheek.

Today is probably one of the most exciting days of my life... today my mom and I are going on a four hour plane ride to San Francisco, my doctor phoned us up and told us that there's a cure which is for my disease and I'm so excited for the cure and that means Katniss and I will be able to get an apartment after we're married and I'll be able to meet my baby... I'll be able to hold my baby in my arms. Katniss was happy about it and said that when she came home from her holiday she will pack another bag and drive to San Fransisco and to the hospital.
"How exciting! Now when we get there you are to use manners and thank the doctor for his excellent work" my mom notes and I sigh rolling my eyes
"Yeah I know mom" I say and she gives me a stern look and I sigh
"Yes mother. I will be polite" I reword and she nods in approval, I may be 23 years old but seeing as I had my disease she treats me like I can't do anything but she loves spoiling me and doing things for me that I can't do but now that I'll have a cure I can work at my family's bakery and get my body back into shape.
June 25th 2018
I'm on my way to San Fransisco to get the cure
which will make my disease go out of my system completely
Katniss will be visiting and I'm excited when she comes to see me
cured and then I'll be able to work at my family's bakery
and get enough money for an apartment or even better a small
house to fit our small family.
I look next to my mom and see that she's reading and she looks at me and smiles and I smile back
"Do you think I've been too much weight on your shoulders?" I ask
"Peeta. You're my baby boy and you'll never put weight on my shoulders" she replies and I sigh
"I just thought seeing as my sickness and all that you know...." I add
"Not at all. You're my baby and I love you dearly" she replies and I smile and kiss her cheek
"Love you too mom"
"Ladies and gentlemen this is your pilot speaking your plane to San Fransisco, California is about to land in twenty minutes"
