Knowing Mayella is going to answer Natashas question, I simply ignore her. Taking her seat next to me, Mayella passes the garlic bread around, taking a piece for myself, I watch the two talk about the history of my name.
“Well Delilah took herr mother’s maiden name, which Adam also inherited, anyways May's fathers surname was Esposito. Just imagine our Dee as Delilah May Esposito; her father didn’t like the idea of her sounding like that so her mother and he agreed to call her Delilah May Evans. It was his ideal meaning of innocence and perfection for his baby girl. He was a good man, so young and full of life, it's a shame what happened to him.”
“I personally didn’t know him all I remember is going to his funeral a couple of months after dad married Renée.”
The subject is dropped there; the room’s atmosphere is thick. Every time I look up I notice either Natasha or Mayella sending me one too many sympathetic looks. Dropping my fork I sigh a bit too loudly hoping they would understand that I didn’t need them sympathizing for me. Clearing her throat, Mayella stands up grabbing our now empty plates before making her way out the room.
“I’ll just go get desert.”
Crossing her arms on the table Natasha rests her head on them, while she stares right at me.
“Soo...anything happen in school today?” Holding her signature smirk she waits for my reply.
Sinking into my seat i shake my head.
“Sure?”
I nod my head firmly.
Sitting up straight she sends me a puzzled look.
“Oh okay, it’s just that, I thought that you know, you might have bumped into someone.” the last bit she mutters to herself.
“Now why are we frowning, Natasha?” Mayella places Natasha’s desert in front of her.
“Oh, umm nothing I just assumed something. Never mind, anyways why’d you take so long mayella?”
“Who me, I just had to get Dee something.” placing my plate before me, she hands me a peach coloured envelope. My name and address is scrawled onto the front by a familiar set of handwriting. Flipping the envelope over, my breath gets caught in my throat.
“Who’s it from Dee?”
I reread the name one last time to make sure I I'm reading it properly. Looking up, Natasha waits anxiously for me to answer.
“From Bianca Mathews.”

Bianca’s p.o.v
Coach blows the whistle indicating the end of the game.
“Everyone hit the showers now!” Grabbing my bottle and towel I followed the rest of my team towards the change rooms.
“Mathews!” spinning on my heels I shoot an irritated look towards coach.
“Yes coach Bryce.” she beckons for me to get colser to her.
“Let’s go for a walk, Bianca. I have some matters to discuss with you.”
Letting out an overly exaggerated sigh I trudge along.
“What’d you want to talk about coach?” I watch her from the side of my eyes. I notice we are making our way towards the football field.
“You’ve improved a lot, you’ve been able to balance your netballing with your softball training.”
“That’s what you wanted to say, that I’ve improved?”
“Well no, yes, no part of what I want to say.”
