VAL POV

We arrived at the restaurant and all three of us got out. There was a guy standing near the door, Laurie walked up to him and hugged him.

He was a tall, blonde guy.

"Alex, this is my brother, Val and my sister, Sharna. Not really, but they basically are."

"Hi Sharna," he said hugging her.

"Hi Val," he said shaking my hand.

"You two have fun, see you in a few hours," I smiled and Sharna and I walked back to the car.

Sharna and I decided to wait in the car.

"Thanks for helping me Shar."

"It was nothing babe, it was kind of a nice distraction,"

"What do you mean?"

"Well I haven't really told anyone, but Paul and I broke up about 2 months ago,"

"I'm so sorry,"

"It's okay. I mean who's gonna want to put up with me. I am a hot mess,"

"Don't say that. Any man would be lucky to have you."

There was a long silence.

"Do you have your eyes on anyone?" Sharna asked me.
