It was the next day and Val and Laurie were rehearsing.

"Val can I talk to you about something?"

"Anything nugget."

"Why are you so protective of me?"

"Because I love you and I don't want you to get hurt. What's really going on?" He said smiling.

"Alex asked me out on a date and I asked my parents already and they said yes and I want your approval."

Val was very touched by the fact that she wanted his opinion.

"I absolutely approve. If you are ready, go on the date. If you aren't, don't pressure yourself. I love you for you and your family loves you for you and if a guy can't see you the real you, he isn't worth it."

"Thanks Val," she said pulling Val into a tight hug.

"No problem kid. Just promise me you will tell me if he is not treating you right because I will jack him up if he doesn't."

"I promise," Laurie laughed.
