“Drey...” a faint, sweet voice lingered through my ears, sending sweet tickles on my mind, I immediately noticed that the car stopped, and Jace waking me up. I'm still not seeing stuff since my eyes are covered. I heard a car door opened, and closed. Just then, another open from my door and a hand pulling me from my seat. I got down smoothly, just as my shoes landed on the grassy path.
“Where are we now?”
“I'll tell you later, just...walk okay?” he says, putting both hands on my arms, which guided me from where we're going. Minutes later, the path changed from that soft grass to a rocky, uneven road, as we get closer to our destination.
A few minutes passed, and finally his hands was removed from grasp. God, he gives me goosebumps. He removes the tie, and finally my eyes fell for the beauty he showed me.
We were on a small cliff, seeing the clear water falls down the small, shallow sea down the cliff. Well, the cliff isn't high, like mountain high, if I'll measure it, my legs are how the distance of it in the water. I saw a red blanket laid down close to the edge of the cliff, enough to see the waterfall and feel the cold sensation it has.
“You like it?”
“It's awesome...” I answer. We sat on the blanket, and I was right about the part of the cold sensation of the waterfall running through the pores of my skin. He took 2 cans of soda, and gave one to me. We had a cheers and drank it immediately.
“Why bringing me here?” I ask, not really knowing why.
“Just to enjoy the night.” he answers.
“If it's okay to ask, why are you enemies with Henry in the first place?”
“Well, it's history goes down long way back at high school. To spare the time for you, I'll summarize it. We were best of friends, he likes someone, and I like the same girl, I tried getting her heart, and I did, best friend got angry, he leaves me alone, breaks the friendship, then a girl who I was once with comes back, and breaks us apart. Henry was part of the plan, and the next thing I know, she transferred schools, but even before anything, we broke up. I got angry at Henry since then...That's only the summarize version, wait till you see the textbook one!” he jokes at the end, making me chuckle lightly.
“He should've understand you, does he know that feelings aren't controlled?”
“Yeah...”
“But I forgot all of that, because of you.”
“How in a way?”
“You know how I guessed your pick me up last time?”
“Oh yeah..I'm also dying to ask that question on you”
“It may sound a little cliché, but I already knew that since I first saw you...”
“W-What?”
“I asked your best friend Lauren, about you, what you liked. She was honest, and told me everything.”
“Did you, or did you not threatened her to answer your questions about me?”
“Sort of, but I never hurt girls, unless the girl is one heck of a b!”
“Oh, I never knew that.”
Silence covered the atmosphere for seconds, we only stared and lit up a smile on each other. Jace, then, shoves his hands to his pockets to get his cellphone and...
'TEN HUTS! GIVE ME TEN HUTS!'
'PRRRRRRRRRRT!'
My phone rang full blast, as Jace laughs at my ringtone.
Forgot to change, dammit!
Jace rang my cellphone, and I answered it, saying a 'hi' on the line. We stood up, and made a distance to each other, as we stared in the eyes, each holding our phones to our ears.
Night Call – 9:36 pm
Audrey < Jace
“Hello...”
“Yeah, why do you have to call?”
“I don't know...I guess I rang the wrong number?”
“(chuckles) What? Remembering the night you called me instead of Henry? Why do you even have my number?”
“I also asked Lauren for that.”
“Why in the world she didn't say a word about this?!”
“Because I told her to keep it a secret, and her being a good girl, really hid it. I thought you know...”
“Well, I don't.”
“(clears throat) Look, I got to ask you something...”
“Hmm”
“I know, we only knew each other in a short time, but I guess I made a lot of damage on you. You, the Sheriff's daughter, made my day complete. I didn't know who were you, I know I did a lot of things you wouldn't like, you can say I'm that typical bad boy you see on high schools, you knew that my father isn't very nice on me, and I had a crazed ex-best friend who almost tried to kill me, but all you did was...trust me. Of all the things you can do, you trusted me for unknown reasons...I know you still need to know me deeply as I hid some personal things in my life.
Audrey, I fell for you, my heart did. I felt...tense around you and, every time I call you nicknames, your cheeks flush red like a rose makes you cute, your smile lifts me up on air. I realized...I like you, no, I love you.
So, sexy goddess, will you be mine?”
“ - - - “
“Sure Jace, I'll be yours...I'll be your girl...”
-HANGS UP-
We each had a big smile, as our bodies collided and shared a tight hug. We pulled ourselves from each other, then shared a kiss under the cold, starry night, that made my day as bright as the moon...
Love conquers everything, it may be blind but it's certainly wise enough to make opposites attract.
