I walk out of the hospital and take in a deep breath of fresh air.

What a great day to be discharged.

It's around 8:00 in the morning as I walk out of the hospital. I am overwhelmed with a swarm of news reporters. I try to take in the warm scent of the beautiful flowers and the sun warming my skin with a slight breeze to make the temperature just at 96 degrees.

On a normal day I would be having a picnic with Renn. But instead I'm being pestered with microphones and cameras. One question catches my attention, I stop my boy guard and look at the man who asked me, he repeats the directions again.

"Did you kill Katelynn so you could get away from David?"

Everyone gets quiet. All the microphones come closes to my face so everyone could get my answer.

I look the man dead in the eyes.

"Did you ask me the question to hurt my feelings or did you ask because you thought it was necessary. Katelynn was a great girl. You have NO idea what it was like in that house, so don't think you can say that I murdered a girl who didn't do anything but cry on my shoulder." I than take the coffee of one of the other reporters and pour it all over everyone's microphones.

I give back the women's coffee and walk away, everyone is silent.

We drive down the street, everyone is coming up with some type of chatter, I look out the window as everything passes me by.

I look at the house. The house I lived in for months. In front of it lies teddy bears, letters, hearts and a giant picture of Katelynn.

A tear falls down my cheek.

I feel a touch on my shoulder, I look to Renn. I don't want to talk, he gives me a sad smile and I return it, looking back outside.

We get to my house and I say goodbye to my parents. Kelsey and Renn get out and help me to the house.

I walk right in and find it trashed. I look to Renn.

"A company is coming today to clean and replace some stuff." he says, not telling me what happened. I already know though, the window I'm assuming was David's entrance into the house to get to Renn.

Renn tried to fight back, I can tell from all the stuff that was in the kitchen is now on the floor.

It ends in the living room where David left once more, with my boyfriend.

"Don't worry about it." he says nudging at my arm. We take a small walk to my room where Renn lies me down.

Kelsey walks in.

I show her to my closet and let her chose anything to wear. She lives in Georgia, she heard about David and came here quickly to try and help.

She had nothing except her car and purse. She is staying here for a few days until her husband comes to pick her up.

I allow her to shower in my guest bedroom and Renn showers in my bathroom.

I hear the shower water and immediately feel extremely dirty, remembering I haven't showered in weeks.

I wait for Kelsey to finish up and she helps me for a bath. I'm still using my crutches, I have had my hate of surgeries and get my stitches and staples off tomorrow.

And then I rest for awhile until I feel ready to get my life situated.

I sit in the tub soaking in the warm liquid as it cascades all around my now soaked body. I sway my arms back and fourth as I slowly put my head under water completely taking in the sensation.

Suddenly I see David, he's in my bathroom. I rise above water and get ready to scream. But he isn't there.

I call for Kelsey.

She tells me that David isn't here, she has been outside of my door the entire time.

She closes the door and I wash my hair and body.

I pick up the razor and slowly shave, feeling the smooth feeling on my now bare skin.

I get out on my own and sit in the toilet to dry myself off.

I wrap my hair into a towel and Kelsey brings me a pair of new fresh smelling soft clothes.

I slip them on and walk out.

She helps me to the couch. A group of men are fixing the 2 shattered windows and a cleaning company is fixing up the living room and kitchen.

I suddenly smell fresh bread and my favorite potato chowder soup. I turn and look at an older lady fixing up the pot of soup and pulling the fresh baked bread out of the oven.

We wait an hour later for everyone but the lady with dinner to leave.

I get helped to the brand new wood table and we sit to eat.

"M'am, please eat with us." I put my hand out to touch her frail skin.

"Oh no dear, this is for you." she declines

"Please, the meal looks delicious and I would love if you ate with us." I offer again

"Thank you for the offer, but really I am fine. I best be going though!"she smiles picking up her purse and leaving.

It gets quiet.

"Who did all of this?" I ask

"I got the chef, your parents paid for the cleaning service and window repair men." he says sitting a cup of water in front of me.

He sits a big bowl of steaming hot soup in front of me, a big loaf of handmade bread sits in front of us and Kelsey sits down beside me.

"This looks delicious." Kelsey says before picking up her spoon and taking small sips.

I do the same. Eating my entire bowl in one minute spite the hotness of it.

Best soup I've ever had.

I have 4 more bowls before taking a piece of bread and dipping it in the left over chowder.

"I haven't had a full stomach in so long." I say standing up.

Renn begins to stand but I make it to the couch before he can help me.

Kelsey offers to do the dishes and tell her to just fill the dishwasher. she finishes in a minute before joining Renn and I on the couch

I sit in between Kelsey and Renn as we watch TV

Every channel has a different news story.

"Rachel McCarthy reporting live from outside of the justice building where David Foster got sentenced to jail for the murder of Katelynn Foster; and officer Derekson And the kidnapping of many young girls. Including Carlie Nicholson." the women says, then they go to a live view from outside of the court building as dozens of protestors hold up sign with the words

'Give him no mercy'

And

'Death sentence was created for evil men like him'

People chant

"Give them justice" as they parade around flaunting their hand made signs

"Turn it off." I order. The tv shuts off.

It's silent for a good 10 minutes

"When are they taking him?" I ask

"He's probably gone..." Kelsey looks to me

"That's what I thought." I stand up, Renn holds his hand out but I push it away. I begin walking to my room. I lie down and think about everything for the first time.

You'd never think you'd be kidnapped. It's always someone else you hear about. But it was me.. I was beaten, kicked, thrown, and starved. I shed blood, I couldn't see from my eyes being swollen shut. I begged for food, pleaded to be set free.

I kissed the man who would one day kill his own daughter for helping me.

A tear sheds from my eye.

And now, I am free... but scarred for life.
