Today was the championships of Daniel’s basketball team. They were going against this school called “Champton High School”. As convincing as their name is, I hoped that Daniel’s team would win. It was the first time I was coming to watch his games. He understood that I had to study and didn’t force me to go this his games, as much as he wanted me to go. However, this was the championships and the Central High School basketball team was top 2. Of course I had to come support my boyfriend who also just happened to be captain of said basketball team.

“You made it! Thanks for coming, Danielle.” He picked me up and spun me around a few times. I giggled and he smiled at me. He held my waist in case I turned into goo, which was about to happen if he kept giving me that smile.

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” I sent him a smile back and we just stood there, in each other’s arms, smiling.

“Okay okay, creeps. Enough PDA for today.”

“Glad you could make it, Lexi. Thanks for coming.”

“I’m not here for you, dork. I’m here for Eddie, duh.” Eddie was on the basketball team as well. Daniel rolled his eyes. “But seriously, good luck. Beat the crap out of those champs!”

“Did you just imply that we’re losers?”

“No! I meant … It’s champton high … okay you know what. Whatever.” We all laughed as we walked farther into the gym.

“Dani! You came!”

“Yep!”

“Of course?” Daniel and I answered at the same time.

“I meant my sister, Jeez.” Lizzy rolled her eyes and hugged me. She was dressed in her cheerleader outfit. They were performing for this game and I came to support her as well. She took gymnastics since she was little and really enjoyed cheerleading. My parents tried to get me into gymnastics too but … let’s just say after ripping my outfit twice, it wasn’t my thing.

“Hey hey. That’s long enough. She’s my girlfriend.”

“Sis, you shouldn’t date possessive freaks like him.” She glared at Daniel why hugging me again. Then she stuck her tongue out at him. Daniel was about to grab her but she ran away giggling.

He pulled me into a hug and I hugged back. He had some sweat from practicing before we came. I breathed in heavily and absorbed the scent. I would usually cringe at the thought of a sweaty male but Daniel’s scent was … sexy. I pulled back for a second and looked at him. I guess sexy people smell sexy.

“Yep.”

“Wait what?”

“You said sexy people smell sexy. So I agreed.”

“Not again! Darnit!” He laughed at me before pulling me into another hug. He kissed the top of my head and sent shivers down my spine. I mumbled into his chest, “I hope you win today, Daniel.”

“I hope I win today too.” He pulled away and gave me a couple kisses on the cheeks and pecked me on the lips before waving me off to sit in the bleachers. I smiled and yelled “Good luck!” to him while he was running off to go practice and discuss strategies. He blew me a kiss from the other side of the gym and I caught it, sending one right back at him. He pretended to do the matrix dodging it. Then he caught it, placed it to his lips, and jumped up and down squealing like a little girl. I couldn’t help but laugh at his silliness. Then he waved one last time before going for real.
