my heart dropped, my body frozen. i don't know what i just did.

and now i don't know how to undo it.

part of me was hoping this was just a joke, a dream even. the other part knew i had just done something i shouldn't have done.

i sat still in my chair, still staring at the message on my screen. it then deleted itself, and another one popped up.

"joshua?
what's the trouble?"

if my heart dropped before, now it was sinking to the pit of my stomach. i choked up, but managed to speak up,

"w-what's going on?"

once again the message deleted itself, and another one popped up with the same little ring every message had when they popped up,

"you can hear me?!" i panicked, almost shouting at my own computer screen.

message got deleted,

i felt dumbfounded, obviously i know what i did. but i just don't know what was actually going on. i stared at my new computer desktop in astonishment before asking the question,

"what are you?"

new message,

"i am your guide

i am here for 7 days
and then you are left
on your own."

"what do i call you?"

"ann is my name."

i heavily signed and nodded, not really knowing what i was doing with this anymore. there was now something or someone hacking into all my data, there wasn't anything i could do about it now.

"why do you have to guide me through the deep web, ann?

"without a guide,
you'll probably get hacked,
tracked down, and killed where
you sit."

i swallowed hard, now terrified of what i had just did. but part of me was so interested, and the other half knew i couldn't mention this to anyone. so i had to suck it up.

"so, where do you start?"
