I was tossing and turning all night. My brother is very popular among the people. Aua is sure to die. If I send my brother to death and have his blood on my hands then the people will be in an uproar. If I let him go I risk my life.
"Ankhtal, are you awake?" Apeta whispered as she opened my door.
"Apeta, what I am I going to do? I can't kill him."
"I think you should hold a trial. Let the people help decide,"
"Letting him go could cost me my life!"
She paused for second before saying, "You poor child,"
"Does everyone know my fate except I?" Tears flowed from my eyes. "What is my fate? Tell me! Will I get beheaded, stabbed, poisoned, fangs? Will I die at the hands of my brother? Will I ever go to the afterlife?" I sobbed. I wailed.
"Dear child," Apeta held my on her arms. Shhh! Remember I love you, your father loves you, your mother loves you. We are all watching out for you. Not all of your fate has been foretold. Now dry your eyes, you have a criminal to deal with. It is time to be a queen."
