Chapter 12: goodbye

Nickels POV:

We stopped outside a large orange building that I knew well; hotel OJ. I saw Suitcase messing around with Balloon, and then she saw us.
"Hey guys, Nickel's here! And he's brought his friends from bfdi!"
Everyone else came along just to meet everyone. I tried to smile but knowing what I was about to say made it hard to. Baseball noticed
"Dude, what's wrong"
I thought about what I was gonna say and just said it
"I have to go"
"What?!" Baseball asked confused and upset at what I just said
"I said I have to go. Listen, I love being here with all of you, and although I don't show it at times, I care about you all so much, and I'm sorry for everything bad I've ever said to any of you"
"You sound like you're saying your last goodbyes before dying. Whats going on?"
"Ok, something's happening. Something big. And it's important that I do something for it, but the only way I will be able to do that is to go, and I don't know if I'll ever come back, so I've gotta say goodbye now, just in case" after saying that, I realise how confusing it must be, but I can't tell them the truth about us going to the real world and never coming back, or about them not being real. It would break their hearts.
"Wait Nickel. You cannot go. You are still part of this show, and you know the rules. If you go and are not back by the next episode you will be officially eliminated and disqualified" mepad said calmly
"I know, but this is something I have no choice in doing. If I'm not back by next episode please assume I'm not coming back and do eliminate me, and then just forget about me, ok" I can't let them know I don't plan on coming back, they won't let me leave if I tell them.
I went to turn around, but I was stopped by suitcase. She was crying her eyes out, which I thought was odd because i thought she hated me. But then again, she only shows her hatred when I'm being mean to balloon and/or when I'm bossing her around.
"Promise you'll come back, ok" she said as she hugged me(or at least the closest thing she could do to hugging without arms)
"I'll try" I said, tears starting to form in my eyes as I realised how much everyone truly cares about me. "Goodbye" I said as I walked off, trying to hide my emotions. I heard them all saying bye sadly. I'm gonna miss them but I know this is what I need to do. I wish I was a better friend to all of them.
We start to walk off and after a while I turned around and in the distance I could still just about see the outline of the large orange building which has been like a second home to me for so long. I know this will be the last time I ever see it. 1 word keeps on ringing in my head.

Me: sorry, I'm just really excited. I can't believe this book has been going on for 2 years! When I first wrote this I never expected anyone to read it, but now an entire 2 years later I've got 5k reads and 100 votes! I can't even begin to thank you all, if it wasn't for all of you I probably wouldn't be here right now worrying about it being the anniversary, and I probably wouldn't be caring about this book nearly as much. I might of even decided to not continue it as there would be no point, and instead of writing this, I would probably be on YouTube, most likely watching red vs blue which I got into a few weeks ago, and not thinking twice about anything else I can do to contribute to any of my fandoms, and not caring, but no, I'm here writing this and I've got no one but all of you to thank! Seriously, ever since I first started this book I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from all of you, even back when this book was really bad and cringy (aka from the prologue to chapter 7, with chapter 8 being the first chapter in this book that I can read without dying a bit inside from how bad it is(seriously, how did you guys enjoy those early chapters XD)), and like I said, I can't even begin to thank you all for that

Me: I can't help it! I just feel like I have to say this because like I said, if it wasn't for all of the readers being such amazing people, I probably wouldn't be here now. ICCI is such a huge part of my life, I can hardly imagine if I never thought of this book, or if I had ended it ages ago. I am so happy that I am here doing this
Trophy: yeah, but k, just leave all of that dum emotional stuff for the final chapter, OK. No one wants to see you like this, because it's annoying, and there is no point

Note: *in Fireys voice* well, yeah, the girls are easy, but so are the boys. I don't mean to sound cocky but it's just really easy for me to mimic any voice perfectly. It's an ability of mine.
Me: ok then. How about you do the voice of someone who is unknown, for example, maybe the voice of the person who cause the apocalypse
Note:*in a voice that sounds almost exactly like mine, but is ever so slightly lower pitched. But it sounds so similar it is hard to tell the difference* for some reason I feel like this voice would he best suited for this 1. But yeah, this is apparently the voice of the person who will cause the end of the world. I would question this more but it's probably best not to question A/N magic

Me: yeah, pretty much. Anyway, in second place was fan art with 1 and 1/2 votes, meaning that fun facts won with 2 votes
Leafy: so then how is this going to work?
Me: just me saying a bunch of things about the book, writing it, things that will happen in the future (but without spoilers), things that nearly happened in chapters (past or future), things I do irl to do with this, and so on. Ok, so the first fact is, and I can't remember if I've said this already or not yet, but this book will have a total of 17 chapters, not counting the prologue, epilogue, holiday specials, or chapters that have literally been only A/N for some announcement, and I plan on finishing this by the end of the year, meaning that pretty soon, if all goes according to plan, this book will hopefully have regular updates.
Fire you: so does that mean that another reason why you decided to post this chapter today was to give yourself time to pre-write chapters?
Me: yeah
Firey: so, how has that been coming along?
Me: not as good as I hoped, I wanted to write a bit more in this time than I have, but it is ok-ish. Right now I am in the middle of writing chapter 13. But despite the pre-writing thing, I am determined to not let you guys wait too long for the next chapter, so expect it out early next month. If it's out late make sure to constantly bug me about it in the comments, ok.

Me: I also really wanna say all of the chapter titles right now but 1 contains HUGE spoilers
Fan: what sort of huge spoilers
Me: V's identity spoilers. The chapter right after when we find out who she is is 100% backstory and shows her name in the title
Fan: REALLT?! WOW I CANT WAIT!
Me: another thing that most people don't know, originally in the chapter 'karaoke and da us vu moments' leafy was going to sing 2 songs; radioactive by imagine dragons, and a minecraft parody of the song a thousand years(I think the parody is called promise, but I haven't heard it in ages so I can't remember)(and yes, I listen to minecraft parodies. I don't understand why they get so much hate, a lot of them are really good). This was mainly because I wanted to show how much she loved Firey (shown by promise) and how little she has control over her powers(and how much she fears them)(shown by radioactive). There were only 3 reasons why I didn't do this: 1- I thought putting 2 songs in 1 chapter would make it too long, 2- I remembered the song demons existed and that it showed perfectly the themes that I wanted to show in both songs, and 3- this was back in a time when wattpad only let you put 1 YouTube video in 1 chapter, so I couldn't have both of the songs in the chapter no matter how much I wanted to.
Mic: any other musical facts?
Me: yeah: after that chapter, originally demons was going to be the only song in this book, until a certain reader got me obsessed with a certain song. Also there are 2 more songs coming in this book; 1 in chapter 15 (cough cough photograph cough cough) and 1 in the final chapter (not saying what song it is but what I will say is it is a song by a YouTuber called MandoPony, and it's a song that was made for five nights at Freddys, but I think it goes well with the ending of this book). Also I may or may not have all 4 songs in this book downloaded onto my phone because I'm a nerd who can somehow listen to the same 4 songs over and over again for hours without going insane. And also originally in chapter 13 I was going to have the adventure time song everything stays because it's a good song and goes well with the them dog chapter 13. And all 4 songs in this book have at some point or another in my life been my favourite song for a while
Fan: nice. Things I would like to ask are 1- do you have a favourite chapter, 2- do you gave a least favourite chapter, 3-do you have a favourite character, -4 do you gave a least favourite chapter?
Me: with the first 1, definitely. Next chapter is by far my favourite chapter. With the second 1, I think in general all of the earlier chapters, definitely, but to be honest I wasn't very keen on this chapter when planning it, however I did enjoy writing it because in the plan this seemed quite boring, so I made sure the details weren't boring. And also, yes I do have favourite and least favourite characters. My least favourite is by far Steve, not just because of how horrible he is in this story (and trust me, he gets worse), but also I just hate him in ii. Don't get me wrong, I think he would make a great main villain in the show, but I don't like people who pretend to be nice but are actually really horrible and only truly care about themselves, but because everyone thinks they are nice they use their popularity to do whatever they want, which is literally him. And as for my favourite character, by far V. 1 huge reason why will become obvious when her true identity is revealed, but it isn't just that. There is just so much to her, and it's actually gotten to the point where I'm trying to decide weather I feel more sorry for her or leafy when it comes to back story's, which is saying something considering leafys been kidnapped along with her friends, all of her friends have lost their memories, she is trapped in a world that isn't real, she accidentally killed 3 people and is left to live with the guilt of it, and keeps on being possessed by her evil clone. However, most of my sadness for V is her guilt. Another reason why I like V so much is I love her weapon
Leafy: wait, she has a weapon?!
Me: yeah, but only because Steve forces her to have 1. But you will all understand the reference when you find out who she is and what her weapon is
Also, another thing about V is it is possible to guess who she is right now. I've been leaving tons of hints since her second appearance in this book. I'm honestly surprised no one has even tried to guess yet
Fan: wait, the second appearance? Why not first
Me: back when I first introduced her and Steve, I had honestly no clue who they were going to be. I didn't even know what gender they were going to be, hence why I made sure not to use any gender pronouns back then
GB: why are you even calling her V? I understand it's a better name than 'the idiot', but your stated that the V doesn't stand for anything in her name, so did you just choose a random letter?
Me:no, I chose the letter V for a reason. It's to do with my head cannon for her object counterpart. It will be explained when her identity is revealed, but until then it will remain a mystery. And speaking of her object counterpart, she hates here, because Steve made it, and she feels like it isn't a true representation of herself, which is what she would rather have people see.
Td: hey, I've got a question; back a couple chapters ago there were the voices in our heads of our past selves, but now that we have our memories back, are the voices gone forever?
Me: yeah, unfortunately. But speaking of the voices, although td was the first person we saw getting 1, she wasn't the first person to get 1.
Firey: then who was?
Me:bubble, shortly followed by the rest of the freesmarters (I nearly typed freelancers then XD I've been watching red vs blue too much lol). Basically on the night of the karaoke contest, before she went sleep bubble heard a voice saying about how adorable of a couple Firey and leafy see, and long story short, this is where she got the idea to put the yole berries in fireys rain shelter, and when she asked the other freesmarters for help they all heard voices in their heads saying the should and agreeing that they are adorable together.
