I was in no mood to wait that long so I went to the blood bank. There was a group of five humans dancing on the dance floor when I walked in. They stopped ad looked at me for a few seconds and then went back to dancing. I went to the bar and ordered two glasses of fresh B negative blood. The bartender there was new. He was a young Demon with curly brown hair. He had tattoos on his arms and three piercings in his ear. He bowed his head to me and I accepted his bow. I ordered my drinks and he smiled when I said two glasses. He handed me my drinks and I gave him twenty dollars. I drank them and the pain in my head disappeared. I gave the bartender one more look and exited.

I went straight home and went to another spare room. All of the spare rooms look the same except a few of them have a different color wall paper. Most of the rooms have a cream color wall paper but some have a light blue, a white, or a pale pink. The pink was not my choice. I had an interior decorator refurbish the house twenty years ago. I told her not to change much and to keep it looking like the time period that the house was built in. The wall paper and the headboards are the same in every room and the bedspread color matches the color of the walls.

I waited in that room and by midnight I found myself exhausted. I have not slept for three weeks. I laid down on top of the bed. I closed my eyes and I saw Navia. I saw her sitting on the porch of an old house. In front of her there was a wide open field of wheat. Her back was to me but I could hear her laughing. The sound of it was refreshing and seemed to wash over my whole body relaxing every muscle inside of me. I stood in the doorway and looked at her for a few moments.

I sat down next to her and wrapped my arm around her waist pulling her towards me. She rested her head on my chest and looked out at the field that surrounded the house. I do not know where I am or how I got here but I could not care less. Navia is in my arms and things are at peace. I lifted her head and kissed her. As I kissed her I noticed that she smelt different. I pulled away and looked at her. I jumped to my feet and backed away from her. This is not Navia. Her crystal blue eyes were on me, clouded with confusion.

“Lucas, what is the matter?” Her voice was very similar to Navia’s but I could hear the slight difference.

“Where is Navia?” I asked confused.

Her eyes clouded with sadness and confusion. “Lucas you know my sister died in a fire years ago.” She looked at me with so much confusion. What?

I opened my eyes, and I was back in the spare room. I sat up and looked around. I felt very shaky. I forgot that I would start dreaming again. I wiped my forehead and got out of bed. I ventured out in search of a clock. I went to my study where I knew where one was. It was seven o’clock in the morning. I went into the bathroom, and did something I had not done for a very long time. I looked into the mirror. I looked terrible. It looked as though I had not slept in months. My eyes were bloodshot, my skin was pale and there was a rim of red around my pupils. That was what being separated from Navia was doing to me. I slashed a cut on my wrist. It took ten minutes for me to completely heal. That was not good.

I waited and the hours seemed like days. I drank more blood but I was weak and no amount of blood would change that. Only Navia will make me stronger. I called a driver and told him to take me to the governor’s house. I was not going to waste what little strength I had left by flying. I have to be as strong as possible for tonight. We arrived at the governor’s house at exactly eleven o’clock. The officer at the front gate questioned my driver and asked for me to show my face and state my business. They let us pass and the driver parked at the end of the driveway. I got out and knocked on the door. Officer Menton answered the door and his face told me how bad I look.
