“Sir please put away your wings and retract your fangs” a man in a blue uniform yelled. All their guns were pointed at me. I was not in a rational state of mind so I growled at them. I clawed my hands and crouched ready to fight.

The governor ran through the front doors and stood in front of me. “Stop! He is not what you were called here for. The men that took my daughter have already gotten away.” They slowly put down their guns and looked at me with suspicious eyes. I should kill them all. “Quickly in here, it all happened in here.” The police hesitantly followed after him. I followed them in.

In the ballroom the police were speechless. The walls were smeared and sprayed with blood. Body parts were spread across the floor. There were a couple bodies that were intact but all the others were ripped apart and spread across the room. Some officers got sick and rushed outside. Humans are so weak. They instantly got to finding what had happened and who was missing. More humans showed up and they began to look over the bodies.

We almost had another fight when the humans tried to look over the body of one of the Myxs that died. His Demon refused to let them see his body. (When a Myxs dies, it is very painful for a Demon. It is both painful physically and emotionally. Even if they were only bonded for a day, the bond between them is strong.) The police began to question everyone as to what they saw. The Demons did not take kindly to the police questioning them. Most refused to answer any of their questions.

A young police man came over to question me. I could tell he was nervous.  “Can you tell me what happened here tonight sir?”

“I hosted a ball in honor of my Myx and those men busted in. They knocked the Demons unconscious, and I woke to this bloody mess. I could not find Navia and on the front door there was a piece of paper with a phone number on it. I called it and it was the same man that I talked to earlier. He instructed me to tell the governor to call him and he would tell him what he wanted in exchange for his daughter.”

“Did he have your Myx,” he looked at his pad of paper “Navia?”

            “Yes” I growled at him.

“What does he want in exchange for her?”

“Nothing. He said he plans to keep her.” I might punch this man. Just talking about it is making me furious. The police officer looked at me with uncertainty for a few minutes.

“Now earlier you said that he knocked all the Demons out. How did he do that? There were only a few men and many Demons.”

I looked at him with narrow eyes. “That is not something we talk about.” He nodded his head getting the hint.

“Thank you for your time, we will be working on trying to get your Myx back to you.”

“Do not bother” I said harshly. He looked at me surprised. “I shall search the world until I find her.” He nodded his head and walked away.

I waited for everyone to leave. People came and cleaned out the ballroom. All the blood was gone but I could still smell it. Even beneath the thick cloud of cleaning chemicals, the sweet tempting smell of the blood was still there. I went to our room, grabbed the shirt that Navia wore to bed the night before and headed out the door. I flew over the city sniffing for her scent. Occasionally I would smell her shirt and keep searching for that same sweet scent. I searched the rest of the night and all day. By the time the sun was setting and I hadn’t gotten as much as a hint of her scent. I landed a top a building and rested.
