Finding You

Chapter~~19

            “Lucas, I see you took care of everything before we could arrive.” He put his gun down.

            “The pathetic man on the ground is the mastermind of the kidnapping.” The cops lifted the man to his feet and he cried out. A smile of triumph came to my lips. They took him out of the room. Another police officer took Angela out of the room too.

            “Why is that girl screaming?” Officer Menton asked.

            “She is in shock.” I turned back to Navia and looked down at her. Officer Menton walked over to the bed. 

            “She looks anemic. You should rush her to a hospital immediately.” He laid his hand on her leg and Navia went crazy. She sprang up and while still screaming she punched him in the throat. He flew across the room, hit the wall with hard thud and slumped to the ground. Navia collapsed back on the bed and continued to cry. 

            I went over to officer Menton and helped him to his feet. He coughed a couple times and rubbed his throat. “She’s a lot stronger than I expected, even for a Myx.” He coughed again and coughed up some blood. I looked at him with wide eyes. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. I put my hand on his neck. His eyes opened wide in shock and said “Lucas what are you-” He stopped when I started healing his internal bleeding.

            “Navia punched you right in the jugular and tore a hole in it. You had severe internal bleeding that was filling in your lungs.” I pulled my hand way from his neck.  “You would have died in half an hour without any sign.” He rubbed his neck.

            He looked at me for a long while, then said “Thank you.” He nodded his head and looked over at Navia. “How did they ever kidnap her? It seems like she can protect herself.” Something in my mind clicked.

            I gathered up Navia and held her against my chest. She struggled but I was stronger than her and she was pinned against my chest. I flew down the hall, down the stairs and outside where they were loading the bald man into an ambulance. He was strapped to a gurney with needles already in him.

            “Wait!” I called. The paramedics stopped putting him into the ambulance and put the gurney down on the ground. I walked over to the man and glared at him. “You said you would make Navia pay for my mistake. What did you do to her?”

            The man looked at me with a smile and said nothing. I was beyond furious. I unbuckled the straps holding him to the gurney with my mind and lifted him up. The needles flew out of his arm. He was floating in the air and the paramedics jumped back. I made it so he could not move any part of his body.

            “Tell me now what you did or I tear something off” I threatened. His eyes wavered but he refused to speak. “As you wish.” With my mind I tore off his unbroken left foot. He screamed and blood spewed from his ankle.

            Navia had stopped fighting against me but she was still crying constantly. I really hope she is not aware of what is happening. I do not want her to see me torturing this vile man.

            “Tell me now.” His lips opened slightly but closed back up. I was enraged and almost dropped Navia but I controlled myself. I tore off his right hand. He yelled out and blood drained out from his wrist.

            “All right, I’ll talk.” He swallowed hard and took a deep breath. “I told her something that you neglected to tell her. Something privy to her understanding of her family’s death.” It felt like all the blood drained from my body.
