“The girl that you took prisoner.” He was profusely sweating.

“Oh her” he said “she’s…she’s umm…she’s a… she’s upstairs” he said stumbling over his words. The way he said it made me not trust him.

            “Where upstairs?”

“She’s in one of the rooms. I’m not sure which. I never saw her, they never told me I swear.” I stared at him trying to tell if he was lying. The only thing I could get from his eyes was that he was frightened.

“Show me” I said. I threw him to the ground. Slowly he got up from the ground and walked over to a hidden staircase. I pulled in my wings and felt as though I might collapse.

I followed closely behind him as he took each stair slow. At the top of the stair there was a hallway. There were three doors on each side of the hall. He walked down the hallway and he did something incredibly stupid. He had a hidden gun in the front of his pants. He pulled it out and fired at me. I easily dodged the five shots the gun held. Once he was out I grabbed his arm and snapped it. He let out a loud yelp. He cradled his arm against his chest and looked at me with terrified eyes.

“If you do that again I snap your neck.” He nodded his head and looked at me with glossy eyes. We continued down the hall. He stopped at the last door on the left. He pushed open the door and moved out of the way. I picked him up by his shirt and pulled him in the room.

“Navia” I called. The room was dark and quiet. “Navia” I called again. I heard movement. Then a girl ran up to me and hugged me.

“Oh Lucas thank god.” She buried her face in my chest. This must be Angela. I did not push her away since she had been held captive for almost a week.

“This is not her” said to the man.

            “Yeah it is.”

“Where is the other girl? She would be about this girl’s height with green eyes and black hair.”

            “There isn’t another girl.”

“Stop lying to me” I yelled. I brought him closer to my face and glared at him with all of my fury. He moved his face as far away from mine as he could.

“I don’t know about another girl. I thought we only had this girl.” He did not sound as though he was lying and his eyes did not waver.

“Navia is higher up in the factory.” I looked down at the girl that was still holding tight to my waist.

            “Do you know where?”

“No, I just heard a guard say that their boss had some girl upstairs with black hair and green eyes.”

I threw the man to the ground. “Where are the stairs leading upstairs?” He opened his mouth to talk but I cut him off by saying “I am going to let you live, but if you lie to me I will come back here and beat it out of you, then kill you.” He nodded his head.

“The first door on the left is a staircase it goes all the way to the top of the building.” I separated the girl from my waist and walked out of the room. She stood in the doorway. I was halfway down the hall when I noticed that she was not following me.

I turned to see her staring at me. “I did not say you could not come with me.” She ran over to me and walked closely behind me. I opened the door and there was a staircase. We went up the first flight of stair and went on the third floor. There were only two doors and they were both empty.  We went up to the next floor and found it empty as well. I went up three more floors and found them all empty. On the eighth floor warmth spread in my body. Navia was close. I raced up the rest of the stairs.
