Finding You

Chapter~~18

            I sighed, and rolled my eyes. Another Demon and Myx came over to talk to us. It seemed like a line had formed because as soon as one left another came. I wanted to leave and go dance and talk to Ryan. I wonder who he bonded to. I must have stood there for an hour before something actually happened. I was talking to a Myx named Michael when suddenly Lucas and the other Demons looked over at the door. I noticed it and looked over to the door as well. A girl burst through the door and fell to the ground. Her blonde hair was covering her face. I squinted my eyes trying to see her.

            She fumbled to her feet and then I could really see her face. She looked familiar, but I couldn’t pinpoint where I knew her from. I thought about it for two seconds before it hit me. That’s the girl that started a fight with me. She ran over to me weird. It looked like she was drunk. She was wobbling and wasn’t running in a straight line. She made her way over to me and fell at my feet. The whole room was staring at me and the girl. She was making little noises. Is she out of breath? She looked up at me and tears were pouring out of her eyes. Why is this girl crying and why did she come to me? She hates me and I don’t like her much either.

            “Please” she sobbed. “Please forgive me. I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have done that to you.” She grabbed my ankle and pleaded with me. “Please forgive me. Please!” she exclaimed. The room was dead quiet, ever set of eyes was on me.

            “Sure I forgive you” I said not sure. Lucas picked her up and walked out of the room. The room was still quiet and everyone was focused on me. I cleared my throat and said “I want to thank you all for coming. This means a lot to me that you would come. I am going to go help Lucas. So please continue on with the party, and I will be right back.” I quickly exited through the same door as Lucas. I heard talking coming from the kitchen. I went on the kitchen and saw Lucas standing on the other side of the kitchen. The girl was on her knees in the middle of the room still crying. Her hands were covering her face and she was weeping very loud. I ripped off a sheet of paper towel and kneeled next to her. It was a little tricky to do in that dress but I did it. “Why are you crying?” I asked her.

            “I’ve lost all my Demon friends” she said in a weak voice. “Since that day Demons won’t talk to me, or even acknowledge me.” She took a deep breath. “I’m so sorry.” She broke out in sobs again.

            I looked behind me to Lucas. “Do you have anything to do with this?” I questioned him.

            “I have done nothing.” Nothing inside me told me he was lying. “The Demons did that of their own accord. Well mostly they did it for you.”

            “Why would that do that for me? I didn’t ask them to.”

            “They must have heard about your displeasure towards the girl and followed behind you.” I looked at Lucas still not sure what he was saying. “They wish to please you. They want to be on your good side because you are my Myx. They think that if you like them, then maybe I will show leniency or mercy towards them.” That I understood. I nodded my head and went back to the girl. I sat with her for a little while longer. She calmed down and I handed her the paper towel. She dabbed her eyes and wiped her tears away.

            “Thank you” she said. “I was way out of line back at the club. I shouldn’t have said that stuff and I really shouldn’t have started a fight with you. I really am sorry.”

            “Thank you for apologizing.”

            Once she was better I told her to stay at the party and enjoy herself. She decided to stay and throughout the night I saw her talking with new people. An hour after the whole incident I got to speak with Ryan. He had bonded to a Demon named Cameron. He was tall with golden yellow hair and bright blue eyes. Ryan said he was doing fine and actually liked traveling around with Cameron. It was nice to see Ryan and catch up with him. Cameron and Ryan almost looked like twins. They both had blond hair and blue eyes.
