Finding You

Chapter~~16

            “I am not mad. There is someone else you should be apologizing to.” I nodded my head. He leaned down and gave me a kiss. I thought back to a couple days ago when Lucas brought me the dress. Soon he’s going to mark me and that will most likely be very painful.

            Lucas ended the kiss, and led me back to everyone else. We walked holding hands. I saw people stare at us and heard them whisper after we passed them. Is it really such a big deal that I’m with Lucas. I saw where we were headed. Tom and Vincent were sitting at a table and there were Demons surrounding them. Lucas waved his hand and the Demons dispersed. Tom and Vincent jumped to their feet and looked up at Lucas scared.

            “I’m sorry that I tried to hit you. I wasn’t thinking correctly and I acted wrongly. Please forgive me?”

            I feel terrible. Tom didn’t do anything, I was just being crazy. Oh god, have I gone crazy. Lately I’ve been snapping at every little thing that upsets me. I got mad at Lucas a couple days ago and yelled at him. He apologized and he probably shouldn’t have.

            “No I’m sorry Navia. I said some terrible things about you without even knowing you.”

            “It’s okay.” We were silent, and I couldn’t make eye contact with either of them.

            “Navia must stay by my side for a while.” Lucas said and led me away.

            We sat in the Demons section and talked. After a while I got antsy and went back down to the dance floor. Tom and Vincent were sitting at a table. Tom was bent over the table and Vincent was rubbing his back. You can really see the care they have for each other. I went over to them. Tom about jumped out of his chair when he saw me.

            “Please don’t. I just want to talk to you.” I sat down at the table with Vincent and Tom sat back down in his chair. “I apologized for what I did and you apologized for what you said so I think that this awkwardness between us should stop.”

            “I feel awful that I said those things.”

            “I know and I forgive you. I want us to be friends again and talk like we were. I like your friendship. So do you think we can?”

            “Yeah, I would like that.”

            After that Tom, Vincent and I became good friends. Night after night Lucas would take me to the Blood Bank and they would be there. When Lucas wouldn’t dance with me I would go talk with them. I tried to get Lucas to talk with them but Tom and Vincent seemed too intimidated to actually talk to him. It appeared that Lucas was actually making an attempt to start a conversation with them but it never went anywhere. I gave up after three nights of failed attempts.

            For a while that was all that we did, night after night going to that club. I was perfectly happy until a few nights after I noticed that a girl kept talking with Lucas. It bothered me because I could tell that she wasn’t a Demon. She was average height with long blonde hair and hazel eyes. I guess she’s pretty. At first she would only talk a little with him but I noticed that she began to talk more and more with him and slowly moved in closer.

            One night she was talking to Lucas in the Demon’s section. I was sitting on the dance floor talking to Vincent and Tom was off getting all of us drinks. Vincent noticed how close they were sitting and pointed it out to me. I looked up and at the exact moment she put her hand on his chest. Lucas immediately grabbed her wrist and put it on her lap. I stood up furious.
