The next day classes resumed and neither Claude nor Lucas was there. I was tempted to try to sneak back in to see them but I decided not to. On Thursday of that week I was eating dinner with Sara and others. I was picking at my food not hungry. I want Claude and Lucas to come back to classes.

“Navia” Sara said.  I looked across the table to her. She had wide eyes. She pointed toward the door. All the Myxs began to clap.

I turned and looked. Claude was standing in the doorway looking better than ever. I got out of my seat and ran over to him. I jumped into his arms and kissed him. Oh thank god he’s okay. Claude was the one actually to pull away. That shocked me a little. He put me down on my feet and wrapped his arm around my waist. Lucas walked in and stood next to us. The clapping and cheering got louder. I looked up at him and he looked at me. We stood there for a few minutes and then the clapping began to quiet and Myxs were returning their attention back to their tables. Lucas smiled at me and then walked away. Claude and I walked back to the table where Sara and the others were siting. Everyone at the table had questions for Claude. He gladly answered them. I searched the room for Lucas who was leaning against a wall talking with some Demons.

For a while things were normal. Normal by our standards. I hadn’t talked to Lucas since that day in the infirmary tunnels. I hadn’t really gone out of my way trying to talk to him but neither had Lucas. There’s this distance between us now and I don’t like it. He was in my Demon interaction, and combat class. I tried to talk to him one day but just he smiled at me and never responded. I felt like I was losing him and the thought of losing Lucas was scary. I kept trying to talk to him but he never responded to me. I eventually gave up.

I was sleeping one night when I felt my bed moving. Half asleep I told myself that someone was getting in my bed. I turned around and barely opened my eyes. My vision was blurry but it looked like Lucas. I accepted his presence and cuddled up to him. I whispered his name. He grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me away.

“Navia” said a voice that wasn’t Lucas’.  I actually opened my eyes and saw Claude sitting next to me. Oh shit.

“Claude what are you doing in my bed?”

“I will tell you when you tell me why you said Lucas’ name. Does he often crawl into bed with you?” he sounded mad. I was so tired that I just told him that Lucas and I met in a hospital before I came here. I left out many details. “When were you going to tell me?” He put me down and I laid me on my side so I could look at him.

“I don’t know. It seemed like you didn’t need to know. I mean at the time we started dating Lucas wasn’t here.” Claude was silent and I got scared that I’d said the wrong thing.

            “I suppose that makes sense.”

“Are you mad? Is it because I already knew Lucas?”

“I am not mad that you knew Lucas. I am just” he stopped. “I want you to tell me everything.” Vicki popped in my mind. I’m not talking about Vicki or my family. I won’t. “Promise me you will tell me everything about you from now on.”

“Okay.” I said. “So why are you in my bed at” I looked at the clock “at three o’clock in the morning?” Why would he wake me so early in the morning?

            “I had a great idea”

“And it couldn’t wait until the morning?” I closed my eyes and laid my head down on a pillow.
