Finding You

Chapter ~~12

            Everyone turned and looked. Something was falling right towards us. The Demons moved out of the way. It crashed to the ground, and the whole ground seemed to shake with its impact. As soon as it hit I rushed over to it. Lucas was lying there half buried by the dirt. I screamed and began to dig him out. He looked so beaten up. Tears poured out my eyes making it hard for me to see. There were cuts all over his face and body, and his wing looked broken. I kept wiping away my tears which put dirt in my eyes making them water even more. Slowly the Demons came closer. Then Professor Marsden was by my side.

            “Lucas” she called. He looked up and I gasped in shock. His eyes look dead. It’s like he’s barely there. “There were rouges, yes? How many? Did you kill them all?” her voice was rushed.

            “Three escaped” he struggled to get the words out. Blood began to spill out his mouth. Oh god Lucas. You shouldn’t have done that. Not for me.

            “How many were there?” He coughed up some more blood.

            “Stop this he needs help.” I can’t watch him suffer anymore.

            “Silence!” she yelled at me. “How many were there?

            “20” he whispered. All life seemed to drain from his eyes and his head dropped. I screamed at the top of my lungs.

            “Carry him to the infirmary.” Some Demons stepped out and carried him away. I rose to go with him but someone grabbed a hold of my arm. It was Victor. He shook his head. “Oliver, Lamar, and Thomas” she yelled to the crowd. Three Demons stepped out and stood in a line. “Where did this happen?” she looked to me.

            “I don’t know I wasn’t awake for most of it.”

            “Which way did Claude bring you in?” I thought back.

            “From the right” I pointed beyond the second building.

            “You three, you are to go try to find these three rouges, and kill them if you do.” The three Demons sprouted wings from their back and took off flying.

            “Navia, are you injured?”

            “No I don’t think so.” I looked down at my body. My clothes are covered in blood and dirt but I didn’t feel hurt.

            “Go to your dorm and sleep I will get you some time tomorrow so we can figure out what happened.” I nodded. I walked away slowly. This can’t be happening.

            I was in so much shock she could have told me to jump off a cliff and I would have done it. I headed to my dorm. The Myxs were a wake and curious as to what crashed outside. When they saw me as I enter the building there was a simultaneous intake of breath. I was sure my appearance was very shocking. I was covered in blood and dirt, and tears were running down my face. I saw Sara in the corner of my eye. She was rushing over to me. But it seemed like she was running in slow motion. Everything seemed to be going in slow motion.

            Sara wrapped an arm around my shoulder. I looked at her. I saw her lips moving but I didn’t hear what she said. I just looked at her. Sara led me to our dorm room. She took me to the general bathroom. I could see that she was talking to me but still I couldn’t hear a word. Sara left and when she came back she had a change of clothes in her hand. She wants me to change. I shook my head. I took the clothes she handed me and went into my room.
