The tears stopped and I perked up. “Lucas” I sat up to see my empty room.

            ‘In here’

‘In my head?’ I thought. I lay back down and closed my eyes.

‘Yes. If you ever need to talk to me just go inside your head. We are connected now, in both heart and mind. Just say my name in your head and I shall talk with you.’

‘I like the sound of that. When will I get to see you? I want to see you.’

            ‘Soon lover. Very soon.’

I opened my eyes and sat up. Okay the first step is getting out of bed. I tried to bend my leg, and barely got a response out of it. For the rest of the day I worked on moving my legs. By the end of the day I had about full movement of them. But I was tired and decided to sleep. I slept five hours and woke up. It was so different. Usually it took me a couple minutes for me to fully wake up but this time I was awake in an instant. I rose from bed and took a shower. Before I got in the shower I took the bandage off of my calf. It was healed. There wasn’t as much as a red mark on it.

Once I was clean I got changed and went out. The lounge was completely dark but I could see everything. I went outside to smell the fresh air. It smells amazing. The snow that surrounded me, the same snow that I had always thought had no real smell, had one. The snow smelt like ice and damp leaves. I looked up at the night sky. There were many more stars in the sky than I remembered. They were shinning brighter than ever before too. This is amazing. I felt and smelt so much.

“The first few minutes after bonding are the best feeling in the world for a Myx.” That is professor Marsden’s voice. I turned and there she stood. “Or so I am told.” I smiled at her. Her eyes seemed nicer than usual but she had no smile for me. “Come with me.” She led me to her office where she went over some more things about bonding. It was really very boring. Before I left her I asked her something I was dying to know.

            “Where is Lucas?”

“He is being treated right now.”

“I want to see him” I demanded.

“You are not able to see him at the moment but within a day he will be fine.”

“I want to see him” I shouted and jumped to my feet.

“I am sorry but he is not ready. You will have to wait.” He tone took on an icy quality. “I suggest you leave now or I will have you escorted out.” Her eyes were stone cold and unwavering. I stood there defiant, and angry.

“What is happening to him that is so secret that I can’t see him?”

“Lucas is in a lot of pain right now, and he will not be himself until he is adjusted to the changes he undertook.” Her expression changed and turned softer.  “I understand that you are anxious,” her tone was gentle and almost caring “and want to see him, but not right now.”

I left her office in not so good of a mood. But once I was out in the open air I felt much better. I have never experienced nature like this. The moon seemed to light the sky, just as the sun did in the morning. I went to the dining hall. The Demons were in there drinking blood. I stared at them all, they all looked less scary. They looked at me with warm faces. I felt like a three year old in a candy store. Everything was new and looked amazing. I walked around the tables and looked at the Demons. Each one was more amazing than the last. I could see things on them I hadn’t before. Some of them had scars on their face that I never noticed. After I examined them all I left.
