“Let me see.”

“No Navia. You will not want to see my back right now.” She did not listen to my warning, and peeked at my back. I heard her gasp in horror.

“Lucas you need to get help.” She tried to get me to my feet.

“No Navia it will heal. Just watch.” I saw that she wanted to protest against my directions but I gave her a stern look. She looked at my back and as the seconds ticked by I began to see amazement spread over her face. Within a minute my back was completely healed.

“Lucas that was…” she shook her head. She never finished her sentence. “Are you alight now?”

“Yes, much better. We still have not gotten to talk yet. How about now since there is no one to distract us?”

            “Yeah that sounds good.”

“Let’s sit over here.” I led her to a bench off to the side. Navia sat a little way away from me. I cannot blame her. “Navia let me start by saying I am terribly sorry for leaving you alone in that place. I made a promise before I met you. I had to keep it. Please understand. I could not, not go. Bad things happen when you do not keep your promises. Can you ever forgive me?”

“Lucas it hurt so much when you left me. I was basically isolated from everyone. I still feel a little isolated. I don’t know too many people here.”

“I doubt that” I said sarcastically. As soon as it left my mouth I regretted it.

            “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“I heard that you and Claude have come together.” My anger is flaring up and it is getting hard to push back.

“Come together? Where did you ever hear a phrase like that?”

“I have had many years to learn many things. A few days ago a Demon filled me in on what happened over the month and a half that I was not here. He tells that Claude chased after you relentlessly.”

“That’s none of your business” her cheeks turned a light pink. “Mine and Claude’s relationship isn’t the point of the conversation.”

            “The point is…”

“The point is you left” she interrupted me, her voice full of fury.

“I know I did and I will never leave you again. Just please forgive me.”

“Will you tell me where you went?”

I saw flashes of blood and screams echoed through my head. “No” I answered roughly.

            “Why?”

“Where I went is none of your concern” I growled at her.

“Lucas you can trust me, please tell me where y-”

“It does not involve you. Now stop” I yelled. My fangs slid down.

            “But-”

I jumped out of my seat. I am so angry my blood is boiling. “It has nothing to do with you. Do not be a fool and put yourself in my business.” I saw the tears in her eye and all my anger drained away. Regret and self-loathing took its place.
