Finding You

Chapter ~~10

            “I know what you are doing” he whispered in my ear. “It is not going to work. I am not going to let this go.” He kissed my lips.

            “Oh, but I think it is.” I ran my hands up his chest caressing the skin as they went up and down. I heard a sliding noise. His fangs came down. Oh I think I can get away with this. Claude began to slip his fingers up my shirt.

            Claude sighed. “Your skin is so soft” he whispered. Claude pulled away and looked completely normal. His fangs weren’t out, but his eyes were bright and excited. “But right now,” he kissed me “let’s go eat.” He tricked me. “Don’t give me that look. I was giving you a taste of your own medicine” he said with a smile.

            “You jerk. Don’t do that to me.” I swung at Claude and just barely missed him.

            Claude grabbed me from behind and wrapped his arms around me. He put his nose on my neck and nuzzled it. Which I found was ticklish because I broke out laughing.

            “Stop, no stop” I said between giggles. I elbowed Claude in the stomach. His arms spread and I took off running.

            “I’m going to get you for that” he said playfully.

            I looked back and saw him start to run after me. I turned to look where I was going but it was too late and I ran into someone full force. I wobbled but couldn’t regain my balance, and went flying backwards. Thankfully whoever I hit caught me. He wrapped an arm around my waist and held me to him. I looked up to see Lucas peering down at me with gentle eyes. My body was warm, my pulse was pounding, and my breathing was picking up. I wasn’t sure if it was because of Lucas holding me or from the run. Either way it wasn’t good because Lucas could probably feel it.

            “You should be more careful my dear.” My heart stopped at the sound of his voice. Oh god it feels so good to be pressed against him. “You could get hurt.” He looked me directly in the eyes as he said that. I couldn’t move, I felt paralyzed in the heat of his embrace.

            “I’m sorry Lucas, it is my fault. I was playing with her. I should have known better” Claude said in an apologetic voice. Lucas looked over to Claude. I kept my eyes on Lucas, studying and memorizing as much as I can.

            “Yes you should have” he said in a much stricter tone. “What if she had run into a Myx? A Myx would not have been able catch her. They would have both gone tumbling to the ground, and possibly sustained injuries. Think before you do things. You cannot go around doing whatever pleases you.” Lucas stood me up strait, and let me go. He looked at me, and his face gentled. “Do be more careful l-” he stopped what he was saying. He swallowed, and his eyes looked pained. “Please stay safe.” He walked up to Claude and whispered something to him, then walked away. My heart was still beating like mad. I took a couple deep breaths and collected myself.

            “Navia, are you alright?” Claude came up behind me and put a hand on my shoulder.

            “Yes, let’s go eat.” Claude and I walked to the dining hall, but before we entered I stopped.

            “Claude?”

            “Yes” he answered. He stopped and stood next to me.

            “What did Lucas whisper to you?” Claude’s eyes darkened, and looked away.

            “Nothing important” he said quietly.
