Finding You

Chapter ~~6

            I spotted an empty table off to the side. I hurried over and sat down. I didn’t even get to eat a bite of my food before three people came over to my table. There were two girls and a guy. The first girl was tall and thin. She had long straight blonde hair and brown eyes. The second girl was just a little shorter. She was also a little chubbier than the other girl. She had curly brown hair, and brown eyes. The guy was about the same height as the blonde girl, maybe a little taller. He had blonde hair too, but with crystal clear blue eyes. He’s very cute.

            “Hey, do you mind if we sit with you?” the blonde girl asked with a sweet voice.

            “Sure go ahead.” They all put their food down and sat with me. The girl with curly hair sat next to me. The blonde girl and guy sat across from us on the other side of the table.

            “Hi my name is Tiffany” said the blonde girl. “This is Ryan,” she pointed to the guy sitting next to her, “and that’s Zoey.” She pointed to the girl sitting next to me.

            “I’m Navia.”

            “That’s a really pretty name” commented Tiffany.

            “Thank you. I like your hair.” I hoped this would distract her. I haven’t even gotten to eat yet.

            Mission accomplished. Tiffany took the complement and ran with it. She decided to go into every detail as to how she got her hair that way. Ryan looked away and rolled his eyes. He looked like he couldn’t care less, and Zoey looked like she’d heard it before. I finally got to take a bite of my eggs. They were still warm, and tasted wonderful. While Tiffany went on about her hair I finished my eggs. I also had time to eat half of my muffin before I had to speak again.

            “How long have you been here?” Tiffany asked getting back to me.

            “Just a couple days.” I paused and looked at them for a minute. “Ummm….I was wondering…”

            “What?” Zoey asked eagerly.

            “Well I’ve barely seen any Demons. I was just wondering where they are.”

            “Oh they probably won’t arrive for a few days” Zoey answered.

            “Oh” I said and took a bite of my muffin.

            “Brandon is staring at you” Ryan said. That was the first time I’d heard him talk. His voice was deeper than I thought it would have.

            I nearly choked on my muffin. “What?” I said coughing.

            “That Demon over there.” He nodded his head in the direction. “He’s been staring at you ever since we sat down with you.”

            I turned around to see if he was telling the truth. I noticed that Tiffany and Zoey were looking as well. I found Brandon in the back of the crowd, leaning against the wall and he was indeed staring at me. Once we made eye contact he gave me one of those heart stopping smiles. I quickly turned around. Tiffany looked at me with wide eyes. Her mouth hung open. Ryan thankfully slowly pushed her jaw up with a couple fingers. I don’t know if I can take the look she’s giving me for much longer. I looked to Zoey, and she was giving me the same astonished look as Tiffany. Ryan looked the same as before, indifferent and a little bored. What’d I do?

            “What?” I asked.

            “How do you know Brandon?” Tiffany took a quick peek over at Brandon and then back at me. “He’s only the hottest thing for fifty miles.” They think Brandon is hot? Ha. If they ever see Lucas’ sexy face they might just die. I imagined their faces and couldn’t help but smile.
