Finding You

Chapter ~~6

            “No no no. You would have gotten this room no matter what.” Something inside of me is telling me not to believe him.  “Shall I show you the campus?” he gestured toward the door.

            And so we went out and he showed all that I could possibly want to see. We toured the first building, it was the widest of the four buildings. This building was where most of the classrooms where. We just went around it, and never actually entered. The second building was for electives that the students picked. The third building had a gym, a cafeteria, an auditorium, and a combat arena. There were also a couple offices and a few empty rooms in the third building. What do they need a combat arena for? It took us three hours to tour the whole campus. Once we were finished, Dean Ellington walked me back to the fourth building. We stood outside the main doors.

            “Here is your schedule of classes.” He handed me a piece of paper. “If you need to change anything just come talk to me. My office is in the third building, right in the front, you won’t miss it. Tomorrow a driver will come pick you up at eleven o’clock. He will take you to town, or anywhere else you need to go.”

            “But how will I pay for everything that I need.” He forgot to mention that. I have some money but I don’t think I have enough to buy enough clothes.

            “The driver will have a credit card. You may use it for whatever your heart desires.” He lightly poked my nose.

            What’s with this guy? He’s very weird. I need to get away from him. I walked in the building, rode the elevator and went to my new room. I tried to turn the knob but soon found that the door was locked. Great. I’ll have to go see Dean Ellington to get a key. I took a stop back, and felt something under my foot. There was an envelope lying underneath to my foot. I opened it to find a piece of paper and a key inside.

The note said:

Navia,

I think you forgot something.

I hope you like it here.

W.E.

            Something about the note gave me the chills. I never told him my name. I guess since he was the dean he would know my name, but it was still a little creepy. I opened the door and went into the room. I sat down on the couch, and looked around. I am alone. I wasn’t sure why but I thought back to when I first met Lucas. I miss him. I wish he was here with me. I am utterly alone without him. A tear slid down my cheek. I sat on the couch just thinking how alone I was. I should have been nicer to Vicki, to my family, to everyone. I deserve this punishment.

            The door opened, and I quickly brushed away my tear. A girl with brown hair entered. This must be Sara. When she turned around and saw me, a smile came to her lips. She had brown eyes and was very skinny. Our bodies differed greatly, her body was skinny and mine was curvy.

            “Hi, I’m Sara. You must be my new roommate. The dean said I would be getting one soon.” She smiled at me. “So did you just get here?” she sat down at the other end of the couch.

            “Yeah I’m Navia” I said quietly.

            Sara talked and talked. I just listened to her, nodding occasionally. She seems really nice, but I just met her. Sara basically told me her whole life story. She was born in Massachusetts, she’s sixteen, and she has been here for over a month. She changed over the summer, and came here at the begging of August. After some time she left to go do her homework. Ugh, homework, I was hoping that this school didn’t give homework. I went to my room, and looked around.  I looked around and saw the door next to the desk. That must be a closet. I picked up my duffle bag and went into the door next to the desk. It was a closet, just like I thought it would. I took the clothes out of my bag and hung them up. While I was hanging up my clothes I noticed that there was another door at the opposite end of the closet. I walked over and opened the door to find my own private bathroom. In the bathroom there was a sink with two cabinets under it, a toilet, a tub, and a separate shower. This is amazing. I’ve been in a bathroom with a separate shower.
