Slowly I passed the aisles, and made my way up to the front.  When I stood across from the passenger he turned his head and looked at me. It was Lucas. My heart warmed and I rushed over to him. He wrapped his arms around me and I kissed him with everything I had. I miss him so much. I kept kissing him needing more and more of him. After a while Lucas stopped me.

“Navia” he said in a soft voice. I looked into his eyes expecting to see those same wonderful eyes, but there was something different in his eyes. Why do his eyes look different? I remember them being brighter and welcoming. “Calm down. It’s okay.” Tears ran down my cheeks. “Shhhhh” he whispered. “You can do this. You are strong. You are so very strong” his voice was just louder than a whisper. Though we were on an airplane by ourselves it seemed like he didn’t want anyone else to hear. “Be strong. I need you to be strong for me. I promise you, you can get through this.”

“I can’t Lucas.” I said between sobs. “I really can’t. I can’t face them.” I took a deep breath. “How can I just sit there while the people I care for the most are lowered into the ground where no one will ever see them again? No one’s going to remember them except for me. I can’t.” I said as I shook my head. A few stray tears rolled down my cheek.

Lucas cupped both my cheeks with his hands steadying my face. “Yes you can. I know you can.” I saw in his eyes that he meant it. There was no doubt in his eyes just pure trust.

He kissed me so passionately I thought my eyes would roll back. His lips were urgent and damp. Unconsciously my hands were sliding up his chest. Once at the top of his shirt they yanked at his shirt, trying to free the smooth skin that lie beneath. He pulled away and grabbed hold of my wrists.

“No Navia not now. I must go.”

“No stay. Please stay with me.”

“I am sorry lover, I must go” he looked me right in the eyes when he said that. I saw so much compassion in his eyes. I nodded and gave him one more quick kiss. “I will be with you very soon, and then we shall continue were we left off.”

After that Lucas was gone. He just vanished. Soon the plane began to fade. I opened my eyes and I was in the forest. I waited until I had myself under control. Then I went back to my room. When I opened the door to the lounge Sara was walking in circles again, still reading that same book. When she saw me she stopped and I saw that she was about to say something but stopped herself. She must have seen that I was in no mood for conversation. I went right into my room, and stayed there the rest of the night. Later Sara came to my door to tell me that the Dean had a letter delivered to our room. It was just more stuff about the trip I would be taking tomorrow. Apparently I wouldn’t be coming home until Monday night.

I woke up the next morning in a terrible mood. I packed my duffle bag and set it next to my door. I took a shower and got ready for the day. I went to the dining hall, and grabbed something quick to eat. Once I was finished I went back to my room. Sara wasn’t there and it was time for me to leave. I left her a note telling her I would be back on Monday.

I grabbed my duffle bag and went out to the driveway. There, I saw Tom leaning against his limo. He looked up once he heard me. He smiled at me, but I couldn’t pretend that I was happy about this. He must have sensed my irritation and his smile slowly faded away. He nodded and opened the door for me. I slid in and we took off. Once at the airport Tom gave me my boarding pass and I left to go find the right gate my flight boarded from. The flight was over too soon and we were landing.
