Finding You

Chapter ~~5

            I chuckled and said “How are you feeling?”

            “Good” she answered, her voice quiet.

            “Really, because I thought you might be a little upset so I bought you something.”

            “You didn’t have to do that Lucas.” She blushed, and her cheeks turned a beautiful light pink. I gave her the bag of candy I picked up. She looked inside the bag and her eyes light up. “Oh my god these are my absolute favorite candy in the whole world.” She picked out the bag of blue sharks. They were half blue and half white gummy sharks. She ripped at the bag of blue sharks. “How did you know?” She could not open the bag. I took the bag from her, ripped a whole in it, and handed it back to her. She immediately dug into them.

            “I had no idea you liked them. I just grabbed some candy that looked interesting.” I smiled and looked on while she ate the sharks.

            “Here try one.” She held out a shark to me. I hesitantly took it from her and smelled it. It smells odd, but I have not really smelt food in a while. Maybe I am not used to the smell of human food. Well it cannot be that bad. I looked at Navia, she was watching my every move. I ate the shark. The flavor was not what I expected, and was strangely delicious.

            I smiled at Navia. “They are actually good” I admitted.

            “What do you mean actually?”

            “I have seen some of the stuff you have been eating while here, and some of it looks down right disgusting. But food has no appeal to me anymore.”

            “Lucas this is hospital food, it never looks good.” I shrugged my shoulders. “Where did you go today? You were gone for a very long time.” I looked away.

            “Navia, I am so sorry for what I did. I lost control of my Demon. I acted irresponsibly, and lost track of how often I fed. The Demon in me heard your blood flowing and went after it.” The words spilled out of me. “I will never forgive myself for what I did to you.” I bowed my head ashamed of what I did to her.

            “It’s okay Lucas I understand. Because you didn’t feed properly, your Demon took control of your body.” She looked bashfully out the window. “Could you just promise me something?” She looked at me gently but intense.

            She is so gentle and innocent. So unaware of the dangers that lie in wait for her. She is so willing to forgive without a seconds thought of what consequences she might face. Usually I am not as cruel as other Demons, they are ruthless and carnal. She should take better care of herself.

            “Yes, what do you need?”

            “Please eat more often.” She smiled at me.

            “I promise.”

            “Will you lay with me?” She looked up at me with an innocent smile.

            I was confused for a second. I was wondering she meant the old meaning of lay, as in to make love to, or the new meaning because there is a great difference between the two. I went out on a limb and to answer her question I laid down next to her. Navia began to interrogate me. She wanted to know everything about Demons. I could not understand why she wanted to know about monsters, but I told her what I was allowed to tell her.

            (Demon’s government does not look at Myxs as equals. They look down on Myxs even though they are greatly needed in our society. We Demons are forced to keep secrets from Myxs or face punishment.)
