Chapter 5 - Hello, Daniel

“Bakit? Eh alam nanaman natin ngayon ah. Ikaw si Daniel Mondargon, ako si Rein Villafuerte.” Sabi ko habang tinuturo ko siya at ako.

Natawa naman siya. “Let’s go out. Let’s watch a movie or maybe I can take you shopping. Ano, is that a good idea for you?”

Pumayag naman ako and naligo agad. I left him downstairs sa sala. He’s just playing COD Black Ops sa Wii. Haha. Yes, I play Black Ops. Masama ba? Hahaha.

After ko maligo, I went to my walk-in closet to chose what I was going to wear. Habang tinitingnan ko yung mga damit ko, I remembered why all of my clothes were black and white. Parang everything makes me regret of what happened last night.

Even though alam ko na hindi naman sinadya ni Daniel yun but still… Feeling ko kasi is I kissed someone behind Michael’s back.

Pumili nalang ako ng simple na sleeveless shirt tapos simple white skirt. Then I wore my red flats and I grabbed my bag.

Pumunta kami ni Daniel sa Mall of Asia. We ate lunch sa T.G.I. Friday’s, after that, we watched a movie. Nanood kami nang Breaking Dawn Part 1 kahit hindi kami masyadong fan nang Twilight. Wala na kasing masyadong ineteresting na panoorin. Medyo nakaka-ilang lang kasi puro lovers yung nasa loob ng sinehan.

After namin manood, pinagshopping niya ako. And infairness, hindi siya naiinip. Konting lalaki lang ang alam kong hindi naiinip pagnagsho-shopping kaming mga girls. Sinamahan niya ako kahit saan kong botique na gusto pumunta. Plus he was the one who paid all of those I bought.

We spent the whole afternoon shopping, playing in Timezone, and we took a while looking for good books in Fullybooked.

I didn't know that he was that fun to be with. Halos lahat ng games na meron sa Timezone, nilaro namin. He even gave me the big Stitch stuffed toy he got from the claw. 

When we went to Fullybook naman, I saw how he was interested in books. He was looking through every detail it has. He even showed and bought me some of his favorite books. Alam niya kasi na I'm also a book worm like him.

After we got tired, I decided na pumunta muna kami sa botique ni Mama. Meron kasi siyang botique dito and ang alam ko, dito ang schedule niya today.

While we were walking, some things invaded my mind. I really see Michael in Daniel. He was in someway the same as him. Ganyan din kasi si Michael eh. Maybe that is one of the reasons why I feel somehow attached to Daniel already even though we just met.

“Ate Marcie, nandito po ba si Mama?” I asked Mom’s assisstant when we got to her botique. And as usual ang daming tao sa botique ni Mama.

Mom’s botique consist of a part where the RTW’s are placed and meron siyang office sa may bandang likod for those who want specialized clothes. Puno rin siya nang pictures namin nila Bliss kasi kami ang nagmo-model nang mga gawa niya.

“She’s in her office. Wala namang client, so pwede na kayo pumasok.” She told me habang nakangiti saakin nang nakakaloka. Siguro napansin niya na kasama niya ko si Daniel.

We went in at I wasn’t surprised kung na surprise si Mommy na kasama ko si Daniel. They knew each other na pala. Daniel invited Mom to join us for dinner. We ate at the Bed Scene sa MOA din.

We finished eating dinner and decided to have coffee. “So Daniel, paano mo napapa-payag na makipag-date ‘tong si Rein?” Bigla nalang ako nasamid sa sinabi ni Mama. Inabutan naman agad ako ni Daniel nang water.

“Well, Tita, I just invited her to watch a movie po.” He said while drinking his coffee. I wasn’t talking kasi baka lalong ma-awkward lang.

“Buti nalang talaga nahila mo siya palabas nang bahay niya. You know, she’s always been concentrated on her work. Lagi nalang siyang bahay, office, bahay. She doesn’t give time for herself ever since Michael pa—“

I cut her off sa sasabihin ko. She’s talking like I’m not here. I’m just giving things a chance. “Mom, please stop. I’m just not comfortable with those things yet. Please.”

Bigla nalang tumahimik. Awkward silence until we finished our coffee’s and decided to go home. Halata mo kay Daniel na he’s curious sa sasabihin dapat ni Mom kanina.

Again, I was alone in this big, empty house. Nakita ko nanaman yung pictures namin ni Mike and hindi ko mapigilang malungkot.

A year has passed, pero ganito parin ako. Hanggang nagyon nasasaktan sa mga nangyari.

Minsan nga naiisip ko, kung hindi pa kaya kami nagpakasal ni Michael nung day na yon, hindi kaya siya mawawala saakin? Sometimes, I can’t help but to blame myself nadin knowing na kung hindi pa siguro kami kinasal that day, baka hindi siya kinuha ni Lord.

Pinilit ko nalang na magconcentrate sa work para kahit minsan malimutan ko naman yung mga nangyari.

My family and my friends tried to help me forget Michael anyway as possible pero wala parin. Nagalit lang si Papa saakin before. Sabi niya kasi kapag nakita niya pa ako na hindi man lang nagta-try na mag move on, pati daw siya iiwan ako. Ayoko naman mangyari yun.

Sobrang hirap kasi mag let go.

Weeks has already passed since I met Daniel, and I must say, that somehow, he’s been really understanding about some things I don’t want to talk about. Ang bait bait niya. We don’t fight and ang maganda pa doon, he always finds time for me despite his busy schedule. I can also say that we’ve also been close.

He also asked me if he could court me daw.

I didn’t see anything wrong so I said yes.

Afterall, it’s been a year. Maybe it’s time that I try on loving again. Wala namang masama diba?
