and right now he knew jimin was sorry.

jungkook put on a lop-sided smile as he closed the door behind him and stood in front of jimin. "you know jimin, when i said you were going to have to fight your own battles, this isn't what i meant."

jimin huffed a sad smile as his tears were still falling, "i didn't plan on it either."

"jimin," jungkook sighed, "about what happened-"

"i'm sorry, jungkook," jimin confessed in an instant, "i shouldn't have made you go through these things with me.."

jungkook eye's widened at jimin's words, he was astonished over the fact that he was finally apologizing. so he did the best thing to do, he stood there and listened to everything jimin wanted to say.

"i never should've yelled at you and pushed you around like that, i never should've ignored your advice and treat you like shit." jimin swallowed, his throat feeling dry from the emotions pouring out of him, "some best friend i am, huh?"

jungkook was about to say something but jimin shook his head and covered the side of his face with his bruised hand.

"you deserve a better friend, and not someone like me. if i hadn't drove that day and hit (your name) and hoseok and begged you to not call the cops we wouldn't be here in this mess-"

"don't say that."

jimin turned his head to look at jungkook, "what?"

jungkook sighed and walked towards his best friend, looking down at him with a rather solemn expression but lips managed to make out soft words. "that's all in the past now, jimin, we can't change the things we did."

"we? but it was all my-"

"no, no it wasn't." jungkook looked at him with serious eyes, "i've kept this secret from everyone else, so it's also my fault. but jimin, i know you didn't plan for this to happen when (your name) and hoseok were dating. on the night we were driving, you said it yourself you were going to move on from her and find someone else."

jimin nodded in affirmation at jungkook's truthful facts, "i-i just thought that this was an advantage to use, i thought if this all happened, maybe me and (your name) would have a chance together.."

"a chance together hm?"

"y-yeah.."

"and did it work out?"

jimin's eyes met with the pale hands of his, "only for a short while.."

"so even if you and (your name) were together, it still didn't work out in the end, did it?"

jimin's tears were falling even more. jungkook did seem inconsiderate rubbing in his face that he was wrong, but he was right. jimin did look rather sensitive and girlish, like all his manliness had left him. but what was he supposed to do when facing the facts? deny it? no, he couldn't. he knew it was time to stop, time to stop himself from hurting everyone.

and hurting you.

"no." jimin's answer was short and quiet, but jungkook could hear it.

"hyung," jungkook placed his big hand onto jimin's back, remembering how hurt his shoulders were, "do you regret all of this?"

jimin only nodded as more tears sprouted from his already red and puffy eyes, "if i had the chance to take it all back, i sure as hell would, jungkook.."

jungkook only responded by smiling and taking a step back from jimin. although the sounds of the room were filled with jimin's nonstop despair, jungkook only turned his head towards the slightly closed door.
