i don't regret imagining

that i was the cause of half.

i don't regret singing

to all your favourite songs,

or pretending that i knew the lyrics

because you knew every one.

i don't regret going shopping,

even if you would sometimes lie,

and i don't regret the little treats;

even the gluttonous pie.

i don't regret staying up with you

because you couldn't sleep,

and i don't regret our little talks

and helping you count sheep.

i don't regret the tales i told

and watching stars fill your eyes,

because i'd always be enamored

in how they look like little skies.

i don't regret the stories

we'd come up with in your bed,

nor the ridiculous names we gave them

because they were stuck in your head.

i don't regret hugging you,

or kissing you that night.

i don't regret saying "i love you"

i regret saying it as a goodbye.
