14: She has a boyfriend

"She has a boyfriend." was all Jungkook managed to say.

"So? You like her don't you?" Kaija said, raising an eyebrow.

Jungkook looked up to see a concerned face.

"S-so what? I'm just disappointed." Kaija gave him a sympathetic smile, and patted his back.

"Sorry, Jungkook. I can't change anything but-"

"It's fine." Jungkook said, and without thinking, he left the apartment.

Humming to music, with her earphones plugged in, Mina walked slowly. She had gone to the park by herself, without a specific reason why. She had to wear a hoodie and a face mask, to ensure she wasn't caught by fans.

Jungkook had come to the park in stress, he didn't want to admit it but he did like Mina. Just a little bit. But he didn't tell anyone. Kaija just found out.

Walking down the small hill of grass, he spotted a girl. A familiar girl.

"Mina." And he decided to ignore her. She was the person he'd like to see the least at the moment.

But- he just wanted to look at her. She was so beautiful in his eyes. Eager to stare at her, he walked behind her, slow enough so she wouldn't catch him.

She didn't notice him, walking at a steady speed.

An old woman was running down the same pavement as the two, her dog dragging along behind her, caught on a leash.

Mina's POV

Se looked like a sweet woman, and se smiled at me as she passed. The old lady's dog bumped into me, and I thought I was going to fall.

But I didn't.

I was caught in someone's arms.

Jungkook.

I quickly came out of his grasp, brushing my coat.

"I- uh, thanks." I said.

"No problem." He said, shrugging.

"How long were you-" Mina stopped as she saw him smile.

"Long enough. You're pretty good at singing you know." He patted her head, and took his leave.

"Wait!"

He turned around, keeping his cool.

"Do you want to-" Mina scratched her head,

"Walk with me?" Her voice suddenly went squeaky.

Jungkook nodded, butterflies rising in his stomach.

Mina unplugged her earphones and stuffed then into her side bag.

They walked side by side, keeping silent.

Jungkook brushed his arm on Mina's accidentally. Blushing red, he snatched it away.

"Sorry."

"It's okay." She replied softly.

He unconsciously dropped her home.

She awkwardly thanked him, opening the front door.

Just about to leave, Jungkook spoke up.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Mina widened her eyes and turned around.

"Sorry? Who exactly?"

"D.O. You seem close."

"Ani. How did you find out I know him?"

"Oh. Don't ask." Jungkook couldn't help but smile.

"He's like a brother to me. I've known him since the war."

Jungkook nodded and started to walk off.

"Jungkook."

He turned round, once again.

"Thanks. For taking me home. And saving me from falling over."

"Duty of a protector." He bowed jokingly.

Mina laughed, opening her door.

"I'll see you tomorrow then." Mina smiled.

Jungkook nodded. Smiling back.
