Chapter 44

I was furious. I was hunched over in the front seat of Peyton's car with strict instructions. Take me far away from Creed as possible. If I were to go back to that house and see his face, I wasn't sure what I would do. How dare he treat me like a fucking child making decision for me. I buried my face in my hands to keep from screaming and trying to calm down the urge to turn around and go back in there and beat the living shit out of him. Who was I kidding, I couldn't beat a fly at the moment. Argghhhh!!!!! I felt the car change direction and looked up to see Peyton making a U-turn. "What are you doing?"

Peyton ignored my questions and continue our way back to Creed's house. There is no way in hell I was going back there. If I did I'm not sure if I could control myself. Right now it would give me great pleasure to see him writhing on the floor in a pool of his own blood in agony. "You can't do this Eva. You need to think this through. Don't let anger and pride get in the way of rational thinking."

I scoffed at Peyton. "I am thinking rationally." I fingers wrapped around the familiar cold steel, the only thing I could count on right now not to betray me.

Peyton jerked the car as his eyes left the road staring at the gun in my hand pointing directly at him. "Where the hell did you get that?!"

"This?: I waved my trusted friend in the air, shrugging my shoulders. " I lifted off of Councilmen Wright's guard."

Peyton had slowed the car down nervously glancing back and forth from the road and the gun I was waving around. "What the fuck you need that for?"

I stopped moving the gun and ponder his question for a second. "Protection. To make a statement."

"What statement?"

I took my steely gaze from the gun and aimed it at Peyton along with the gun. "That if you don't turn this car around I will shoot you."

Peyton slammed on brakes jolting both of us forward straining against our seatbelts. It motion didn't deter me from target. I kept the gun trained on Peyton. Peyton eyes widen with disbelief that I actually pulled a gun on him, but was he really surprised? He knows how I am. "Damn Eva. I thought we were friends?"

"We are. Now turn back around and drive." Peyton made another U-turn on the empty road and resumed our heading.

"I need to get better friends." Peyton grumbled. " You can stop aiming that gun at my head. I will take you to my place. Let me send a quick text to Andrea." I maintain the hold of my gun for a few seconds and then lowered it back onto my lap.

"Fine. But let me see texting. Can't have you tipping off Creed." Peyton pulled the car over onto the side of the road and pulled out his phone in view. I watch as he typed a text to his mate that he was bringing me home with an excuse that I got hurt in a lab accident.

After sending the text, Peyton merged back onto the street and we were on our way out of Eagles Bluff. Eagles Bluff the main town of the council territory; where the council resided. Eages Bluff was surrounded by smaller bordering communities that were ran by Alphas from the Orginial Werewolf bloodline, who were not on the council. Peyton had recently been living on the outside of council territory on the border of Washington and Montana when he was kidnapped years ago. Since then, the council wanted to make sure to keep one of their best asset close by and moved to Eagles Bluff. About six months ago, Peyton petition to move out of the scientist condos with Andrea to a home in one of the neighboring towns. This will be my first time see his new place.

We drove for about thirty minutes when we finally hit the outskirts of Sheldon.

"So this is where the council is hiding you."
