[Alison’s POV]
Wednesday na. Andito ako sa school. One o’clock kasi klase ko sa major subject ko. Oo nga pala, BS Psychology ang kinuha kong kurso. Ewan ko ba, basta I find this course interesting kasi. The only “science” na feel ko. Pero mahirap pa rin. Ang hina ko kasi sa science, Chemistry at Physics. Naku! Hinding-hindi ko naiintindihan ‘to. Isama mo pa ang Math.
Nagdidiscuss na ngayon si Ma’am, habang busy ako sa kakakopya at pakikinig. Discussion namin ay about Phobias. General Psychology kasi ito.
Andami palang mga weird phobias noh? May Venustraphobia - Fear of beautiful women, Urophobia - Fear of urine or urinating (this cant be helped, right? I mean, iihi naman talaga ang tao. hehe) at mayroon pang Genuphobia - Fear of Knees.
Grabe, almost everything ay may phobia. Ako? Katsaridaphobia. Fear of cockroaches. 'Di naman to the highest level pero, ayokong-ayoko talaga ng ipis. It's kadiri kasi. At ang napaka-ayaw ko ay yung flying ipis! huhu. I would really run and hide.
Matapos ang one hour and fifteen minutes, natapos na ang klase. Oo nga pala na feel kung nagvibrate cellphone ko while nagclass. I opened it and read the message.

Hindi sila nagreply. Nagstart na siguro class ni Logan. At busy siguro si Amanda. Paano ba ‘yan nahihiya ako. ‘Di ko masyadong close people doon kahit ilang months na akong sumasali sa church - except si Ate Rikka. Ayoko naman hindi pumunta noh. Sinu-sino kaya ang nandun? Hmm…
I decided to join at nilakasan loob ko.
Oh my gosh! I just joined my very first meeting with my schoolmates-slash-churchmates at school. I came in a little late. Kasi natatakot ako. The meeting starts 3 pm. Well this was pretty hard for me because I’ve never really joined without anyone with me. This time I was on my own. It was fearless. Yes, FEARLESS… F-E-A-R-L-E-S-S. You know, like that Taylor Swift song (I love that by the way. *wink). Oh and also her song Enchanted was like my song for the day.
I was looking around the room para makakita ng empty seat at Makita si Ate Rikka. As you can see, Ben’s here also with Ate Fely and Ate Rikka. Nag-give way si Ate Fely para ako ay makaupo. Empty naman ang chair na katabi niya, umalis pa at pumunta sa likuran ko katabi ni Ben. Si Ate Rikka nagmove sa other end na chair sa harap ko. Sa may gilid kasi ako pinaupo, vacant naman somewhere sa gitna
After the discussion we head out for a snack at the canteen. Foods were already provided. I am not aware na pwede palang umalis after sa snacks , kaya nandito pa rin ako. Since I’m a newbie in the group, I just stayed a little quiet. They were all chatting and laughing. I’m joining some of their chats by just laughing with them. Talk about a wallflower.
I can’t look at Ben’s direction. So I keep on looking the other way. Syempre, hindi ako masyadong nakakapagsalita when I’m near him. Ganoon din naman siya. Ang awkward kaya. Pero kinausap niya ako last time diba? ‘Yung first time kaming nagmeet. There’s this other newbie (I forgot his name) who he keeps talking to about school stuffs and being on this newspaper organization thingy. But still, I also want him to talk to me you know, so that we can be friends.
They were like:
“Oh, so kasama ka sa Champion newspaper?” Ben asked. Champion pala ‘yung official newspaper/magazine na ginawa ng school if ever may news or such.
“Yes” said the newbie freshie.
“What do you do there?”
“Ah.. writer.”
“Wow.”
“Weren’t you on the Champion too, Ben?” Asked Miss Fely. Miss Fely was one of the leaders of the group. She’s already married for your information, we just call her miss. Hindi rin halata na may anak na siya.
“Ah yes. I’m a photographer.” Replied Ben
I really wished I could be someone smarter. I’m not saying I’m dumb. Just Average. I haven’t really figured my talent also, so I don’t have something to be proud of at the moment. I know marunong akong mag-Badminton pero talents like: Singing, or dancing, or writing… kahit ano pa, parang I don’t have. Hehe
I’m the shy kind of girl. But I really am a friendly and good friend whenever we’re close. Not to mention being with Logan, we talk on anything we can think of.
I asked them that I’d be going ahead since it’s almost 5 o’clock. As I stood up, I waved goodbye. Then Ben noticed me and asked, “You’re going?”
I smiled and said “Oo.” He waved goodbye.
But then I saw Logan going my way and asked, “Aalis ka na?”
“Yes, and you’re very late. Nandoon sila.” I pointed at their direction.
“Wait for awhile” he said. He went to them for only a short time then bumalik na siya sa akin at kami ay umalis na.
“Where’s Amanda?” I asked.
“She’s with her friends on a KTV.” He replied.
“Oh…”
I rode with him in his car para kasi ng direction bahay namin. He dropped me at home and I said “Bye! Thanks.”
“See you tomorrow.” He said.
I immediately got to my room and reminisce what just happened today. Ben talked to me. Akala ko bitter siya sa akin. Parang hanggang ‘hi’ ‘hello’ lang kasi kami. He talked to me! He talked to me! Pero wait, bakit ba ito reaction ko? NO! Ayoko. Hindi ko carry magka-crush sa kanya. Wala lang, hindi pa naman sigurado eh.
