It had been a year since the first outbreaks were discovered of the most horrific plague to ever rattle humanity's hope that is called: Ender. News reports say the Ender disease got its name when people started witnessing pets, crops, livestock, forests, and ocean life all just drop dead right then and there. Today the world is cased with the disease that had destroyed other civilizations in the past, only this time the entire earth would perish too. These are the words that make up people's conversations, and who knows if they are truly truthful. They could just be spreading rumors to get attention.

Jillian stood freezing amongst the crowd with her sister as the large jumbo tron sparked to life. The Prime Minister of Canada was going to be meeting with the president of the United States and other leaders from around the world to discuss sending a message into deep space in hopes of help from extra terrestrials, but everyone knew by the time the aliens come and save us it would already be to late even if aliens did exist.

The girls wore their bulky winter coats as a cold crisp wind whipped their ginger hair widely. Both girls inherited their mother's angelic looks but Jillian gained her ice blue eyes and clumsiness home her father. Alexa and Jillian, now the only Carter family members still alive, watched patiently in the December air hoping that the future for them was not just death. Jillian peered at her sister. The dark bags under eyes, wild bed head hair, and foul odor showed her that Alexa was beginning to loose her sanity. Everyone she knew and still knows today has slowly begun to loose the control on their humanity, turning mad and crazed. The world was finally looking scary in young Jillian's eyes.

《"Hello citizens of Canada and the world. Today marks the launch of our LAST HOPE message into space for a chance of help. Do not worry about this, don't worry about anything! This is it and we're not going to just sulk and hideaway, but we will stand strong together as one!"》The Prime Minister exclaims with hope. The crowd slightly cheers but eruptly calms as reality takes back their thoughts.

Jillian knows the likelihood of dying and well, a twelve year old shouldn't know such things. Her sister pulls her along as the crowd disperses into separate ways to there somewhat warm homes. This could be humanity's last winter or last month even. The suffering was not the disease its self, it was the wondering of when the end would finally come.

Humanity has its last and final wish to be given a second chance.
