We ended up staying at Paul's house that night. His brother Regi was very surprised to see me for the first time in the longest time.

"Well if it isn't Kat, never thought I'd see you around here again." I frowned a little at the thought of everyone thinking I had left with the intent of never coming back.

"Regi, she has no memory of being taken to Kanto, her father lied." I looked down and thought about all the lies I'm sure he told everyone when they came asking if I was around.

"I think I want to go for a walk..." I muttered.

"No, don't do that." Paul said sharply like he was scolding me for something bad.

"What do you mean?"I asked confused by his tone.

"You always do that, you want to get up and walk away from something you don't like. You want to get away from everything. Kat the world is going to do something that you may not like sometimes. You have to be prepared for that, just like your father. You want to run away from all of this don't you? You want to get Jolteon and run as far away as possibly but that's not likely. He will follow you when he figures out you're back. He will never stop and you know it. So man up and take responsibility for the actions that have led you here." I felt as if I was a child being scolded by a parent once again. I looked down at my feet and I knew he was right, but I wished he was wrong at least somewhere, but I guess he knew me better than I knew myself.

"Alright, I'll stand my ground." I said and looked him dead in the eyes. "I'm not the same girl that you knew, I have grown since I set out on my journey and if you can't believe that then do I need to get Articuno again?" I said and he flinched a little at the seriousness in my tone. "I will not break as easily as I did back then, I will not cry over someone who cared nothing for me." Paul and Regi both smiled a little at the toughness that now shined through who I once was.

"Now that's the Kat I wanted to see when you were younger, maybe getting sent away did some good for you after all, though I'm not saying it was right what your father did." Regi said lightly. I nodded and looked down at Umbreon.

"Tomorrow we're going to save Jolteon, this time I will not hold back...I will use the abilities I was gifted with." Umbreon looked at me stunned. I remembered telling her after the pokemon league that I didn't want to use my transforming powers. I was afraid to tell her that the truth was I was scared to use them and have someone try to take me away from her and all my other pokemon. They were my friends and this time one of my friends needed me, I had to help or else I would never forgive myself if something happened to him.

"Kat, why don't you get some rest." Paul said lightly and I followed him to the guest bedroom. I thanked him and changed for bed. I curled up and looked out the window to see the looming factory.

"Jolteon please hang on, I'm coming for you tomorrow. I will save you...I promise." I muttered and closed my eyes to sleep.

The next morning I was woken up by Umbreon nudging me lightly with her head. I groaned but we had made this plan last night. Get up early and go to the factory without Paul, because getting him involved would have gotten him into danger as well and I knew I couldn't do that.

I headed downstairs quietly and finally towards the factory with Umbreon at my side.

"Are you ready for this Umbreon?" I asked and she nodded sharply.

I changed into an Umbreon and looked at my Umbreon lightly.

"If this goes south I want you to get out of here." I said and she shook her head.

"Nope, I told you I will be by your side always. Now let's go get Jolteon." I followed her inside the compound through a vent we found. I led the way when I picked up Jolteon's scent.

I finally could hear whimpers from Jolteon himself as I looked down into a room.

"I can't believe that Kat, your daughter became the champion of Kanto, it's unthinkable, but there's no way she'd come back to Sinnoh after everything we did to her." I heard a scientist say.

"Yes, yes very true. Though it would have been better if she was dead, but somethings can't be avoided. This Jolteon is a great test subject though, my daughter practically handed it to me." I felt a growl appearing in my throat as I heard the voice of my father.

"Did you hear something?" One of the scientists asked. I silenced myself quickly. "Now I don't hear anything..."

"Murkrow, go look around to see if we have any rats." My father called out. I saw the bird come out and I immediately changed into a Jolteon. Umbreon looked at me and I knew it was time. We burst through the vent and on to Murkrow.

Everyone in the room was stunned by the entrance and that gave me enough time to use Iron Tail on the cage holding Jolteon there. He looked at me and an instant he knew who I was. I smiled brightly.

"I'm so glad you're alright, Jolteon." I said.

"Same to you, but let's get out of here first." I nodded and looked back at Umbreon who was holding back all the pokemon coming towards us. Jolteon and I used a combined Thunder and with the distraction slipped out of the building without anyone noticing us.

Once we were back to Paul's house I changed back to normal and Jolteon jumped into my arms.

"It's so good to see you again, Kat. This is Umbreon your partner right? It's nice to meet you too. Thank you for taking care of Kat when I couldn't." Jolteon said and Umbreon looked shocked.

"Jolteon I'm sorry for letting this happen to you. It's all my fault..." I muttered and that's when the door to Paul's house opened and he rushed out.

"Paul!" Jolteon jumped into his arms and it caught him off guard.

"Jolteon!" I smiled as Jolteon licked his face.

"Yeah, he's alright. I didn't want to get you involved so we went by ourselves." I said lightly.

"I think it was reckless and stupid, but I'm glad you're alright." Paul said.

"We'll let's get inside before they start looking."
