Her eyes are on you as you take a seat next to her bed, butterflies in your stomach. You weren't sure if she'd like the gift you'd gotten her. It wasn't much, just a wooden figure that you thought was cute. You take it out of your pocket, holding it up for her to take. Her brow furrows in confusion as she takes it from your grasp. After what felt like an eternity of uncertainty, she smiles softly, looking up at you with gratitude and appreciation in her eyes.
"I love it."
