Twisted Secrets

Chapter 1

                   It was a sunny day. Not a cloud to be seen for miles away. You could hear the birds chirp even through closed windows. *chirp chirp Chirp CHirp CHIRp CHIRP* The chirping progressively got louder and more annoying by the second. The sunlight was piercing my once pale skin. Due to my job of taking care of children in a summer camp, my white skin turned into a tan color. I was watching my favorite show, American Horror Story, season 4 Freak Show. I was in the middle of the episode in where the freak with two faces, Edward Mordrake, asked the lady with a beard, Ethel, what her darkest, saddest moment in her life was. It got me wondering what mine is. Alas, if I were a freak of nature, I would have plenty of those moments, but I just dress the part. I've had my share of being called a freak before but, I can't quite put my finger on what my darkest, saddest moment in my life was. School's hell. Work's hell. Well, there was that time I was almost rap- you know what? Who the fuck cares?

               I got up from the couch, which was like leaving my fortress of solitude and headed towards the kitchen. Kitchen is where the food is. I remember when I was anorexic. I lost a shit load of weight during that era, but I love food. I hate how it gets me fat, but I love the taste of it. I went to the pantry located next to the refrigerator, and grabbed some cereal because why the fuck not. I then went to my room and grabbed a Monster Energy Drink from my secret stash. I then ate my cereal while the Monster sat in the refrigerator cooling. After I was done munching on my cereal, I grabbed the somewhat cold monster and hollered "I'm gonna walk around the condominium mom!" "OK" she replied. I unlocked the door and stepped outside. I was blasted with the high humidity and heat. I pulled the hood over my head and checked if I had matches in my pockets from my hoodie. While I sipped my Monster, I pulled out a vape pen and started smoking while walking around. I wish I had cigarettes but my lousy no good dealer won't buy me cigarettes because "They kill Scarlet" "I don't fucking care if they kill me, I would love to be in an eternal rest Oliver. You've known me for 3 years now. I thought you knew that dumb ass." I told him a while back.

               As I inhaled through the pen, I saw a couple of kids staring at me. One of them waved and the other just stared. I nodded a hello as I exhaled a cloud of smoke. I sipped my monster and walked to my "secret place". It's really a some what large patch of grass and soil next to a house no one lives in. No one usually goes there so I sit and smoke. It was just a couple of blocks from where it almost happened. My mind started wondering off and I soon ran out of liquid in the vape pen. I had also ran out of monster. I got a little leaf from the floor and got my matches out. I started to burn the leaf. When it was half burned, I blew out the fire and left it half burned. I then proceeded to tie a string around the stem of the leaf and tie the string around a tree branch. I don't know why I did that, but whenever I felt lost, I did that. Maybe if i'm ever lost I'll follow the leaves.
