After I had hung up the last phone call, I sighed and looked at my cell phone, contemplating whether or not to call Camila. I knew she wasn't at the apartments, she was at her friend's house. I had called Ally and Dinah who were shocked and scared beyond belief, but unfortunately, were both out of the city, but had promised to come back as soon as possible. After, I called Lauren's family who were also shocked, and they were going to get on a flight first thing tomorrow. Lastly, I called Demi. Even though Averi had only met her once, they texted from time to time, and I knew Demi would care. She cried over the phone and told me she would come visit as soon as she had a day off from tour.

But now, I contemplated calling Camila. It was different for Camila, in regards to the other girls. The bond between Camila and Averi was special. Camila was like a second mother, aunt, and sister to Averi, wrapped up in one. The two were so close, it was unbelievable. I knew it would hit Camila the hardest, but I also knew she wouldn't forgive me if I didn't tell her.

I sighed once more before checking the time. 7:12am it read. For the time being, I slid my phone into my pocket. I would call Camila at the hospital. I got up and woke Taylor up, who started tearing up the minute her eyes opened. After consoling her, I walked to Lauren's room and woke her up.
"Stop," She said groggily.
"Laur. Wake up," I whispered.
She got up and looked around, still not remembering.
"We need to go..." I said, cautiously.
"Where?"She asked, still not completely remembering.
"The hospital, babe," I told her softly, and a cry came out of her mouth.
"Oh my god. My baby," She sobbed as I pulled her into my embrace, tears falling from my eyes.
"Laur. You need to be strong, honey. Averi needs you now, more than ever. You need to be strong for her," I told her and I felt her nod against my shoulder and her crying slowly stopped.
"Now let's go," I said, once she had regained control.
"Can I change?" She whispered and I nodded. She numbly walked to her closet and pulled out leggings and an oversized sweater with Uggs, and then placed glasses on her face, so nobody could see her pain and exhaustion.

We walked out to see Taylor dresses semi-similarly. I placed my own glasses on, in case of paparazzi and began to walk out of the door when Lauren stopped.
"She needs something comforting. She needs to feel peaceful," She said before running to Averi's room and coming back with a small lion stuffed animal.
"I got her this, the first day we spent time together. When we went shopping. She always tells me how it makes her feel safe," Lauren teared up again, and Taylor walked over to her, interlacing their hands.

We walked out again, and to my car. The drive to the hospital was silent. Everyone was thinking of one thing; Averi's health. We made it to the hospital, and walked in. I stepped up to the desk and said her name.
"Averi Sophia Jauregui?" I asked and the lady looked her up before looking at me.
"Are you her mother...?" She asked.
"No. Her mother and aunt are behind me," I pointed the the two girls who were leaning against the wall, "But are in no shape to talk. I'm her aunt," I told the lady and her face contorted to one of empathy.
"Averi lost a lot of blood. Because of the blood loss, and the fact that she already had little blood, due to being anemic, she had a seizure on the ambulance and the paramedics had to resesutate her, and luckily they saved her. When they got here, her heart wasn't pumping enough blood, so she went into failure, so the cardio thoracic surgeon had to perform emergency open heart surgery. Now she's stable and on bypass, and they're probably finishing up the surgery," She finished, and I couldn't believe my ears. This poor child has endured so much in the passed 24 hours.

"Ma'am?" The receptionist asked, and I looked at her.
"She's going to be in room 2298. It's the ICU but they allow visitors. Here are your passes so that when take her, you guys will be able to go right on up. And here's an extra one for anyone else," She said, handing me four stickers.
"Thank you..." I whispered and walked to Lauren.
"Laur?" I asked her, and she lifted her head towards me.
"I heard..." She said, before placing her head on my shoulder for the second time today.
"Averi J-Jerky?" The man dresses in blue scrubs called and I walked up. Normally, we would all laugh at the pathetic excuse of pronunciation, but not today.
"I'm her aunt," I told him, and her nodded before continuing.
"She suffered major blood loss, as well as coding four times during the surgery. As of now, we don't know her brain function, but we'll wait and see. Also, she is in a coma, and will wake up anywhere from two weeks to two months or more. Because of the brain damage, we don't know or can't tell when," He said and I gasped.
"Months...?" I asked and he nodded, sadly.
"I'm sorry ma'am. You guys can come to see her now. Only five people, besides immediate family are permitted and you have to sanitize your hands, and put on scrubs and masks every time you want to see her, because of how prone to infection she is," He told me, and I nodded, ushering the Jauregui's to come with me.

We followed the doctor in silence until we got to the room.
"Also ladies. I want to warn you. Averi is covered in wires and monitors, so please don't be alarmed. They're there to help her. And you can talk to her. She might hear you," He said and then opened the door, leaving us alone.
"Oh my god," Taylor was the first one to break the silence.
"My poor little girl," Lauren said, her voice breaking.
We walked in and closed the door.
"Oh Averi," I whispered, caressing her head, my voice muffled through the mask.
"Guys. I'll be back," I told the two, who were sitting by Averi's bed, tears flowing freely.
I walked out of the room and to the small waiting area right outside, pulling out my phone, and searing for the contact I needed to call. With shaky hands, I pressed on her name letting the phone ring.
"Hey Mani," She said, her voice tired.
"Hey Mila. Where are you?" I asked, not allowing my voice to break.
"I was at Chloe's house but came back about an hour ago because I missed my bed," She giggled and I sighed, knowing I would be the one to break her happy mood.
"You should come to Los Angeles General Hospital," I told her and she didn't say anything for a few seconds.
"W-why? Are you okay? What happened?" She asked, a sense of urgency in her voice
"Just come Mila. I'll be waiting for you at the front," I said, tears threatening to fall out again.
"No Mani. Tell me," She asked desperately.
"Mila...it's Averi," I whispered and I heard her gasp before the line went dead.
