Heaven's Calling

Chapter 24: Heading Back Home; Getting a Stomach Bug, or is it?

(Lana's POV)

After a whole month of spending quality time together as a newly wedded couple, it is time to say goodbye to Europe and head back home to Los Angeles. Even though it's currently 9:00 p.m. here in Greece, Ashley and I are packing our bags for tomorrow, making sure to pull out some comfy clothes for the long plane ride back home tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. We both get into bed and sleep peacefully in each other's arms. 8 hours later at 5 a.m., Ashley and I head down to the concierge desk and drop off our room key, grabbing our luggage and heading to the car and on our way to the airport.

We quickly receive our plane tickets once we arrive and drop off our suitcases, making our way to the security point and passing through with ease. We have plenty of time before we need to board the plane, so we stop and get some McDonald's (Ashley ordering a Sausage Egg McMuffin Meal with coffee, and an extra hash brown, and myself ordering a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit Meal, with hot coffee and an extra hash brown as well. By the time we get our food, they are allowing passengers to board the plane, so we hurriedly rush and get in line to board our plane.

After getting our seats (which happen to be the two seats near one of the windows, Ashley allows me to take the window seat, and he sits on the aisle. He grabs a hold of my hand, kissing it like an olden day gentleman. I look over and smile at him, kissing his lips softly. He kisses me back and pulls up the arm rest in between us, pulling me closer to him. I lay my head on his shoulder, and kiss his exposed neck. He shudders at the feel of my lips against his skin and I smirk a little. He gives me a look as if to say, 'You're so going to get it later'. I can only continue to kiss his neck and torture him as he knows we can't do anything inappropriate on a public plane.

A few hours into the flight, I wake up after a small powerhouse nap and notice Ashley is still asleep. I get up and stealthily make my way to the bathroom, and come back a few minutes later without waking him up. I grab my phone and begin playing some music, more or less Country music. I turn on a playlist with Reba McIntyre, Brooks & Dunn, and Dolly Parton:

Reba McIntyre- Is There Life Out There

She married when she was twenty
She thought she was ready
Now she's not so sure
She thought she'd done some living
But now she's just wondering
What she's living for
Now she's feeling that there's something more

Is there life out there
So much she hasn't done
Is there life beyond
Her family and her home
She's done what she should
Should she do what she dares
She doesn't want to leave
She's just wonderin
Is there life out there

She's always lived for tomorrow
She's never learned how
to live for today
She's dyin' to try something foolish
Do something crazy
or just get away
Something for herself for a change

Is there life out there
So much she hasn't done
Is there life beyond
Her family and her home
She's done what she should
Should she do what she dares
She doesn't want to leave
She's just wonderin
Is there life out there

There's a place in the sun that she's never been
Where life is fair and time is a friend
Would she do it the same as she did back then
She looks out the window and wonders again

Is there life out there
So much she hasn't done
Is there life beyond
Her family and her home
She's done what she should
Should she do what she dares
She doesn't want to leave
She's just wonderin
Is there life out there
