I continued to run into the woods without the slightest sense of direction until my nose was able to pick up the smell of blood. Well, the smell definitely had a mixture of human blood in it, however I don't think all of it was Claire's. There were multiple scents and despite the wolves I smelled others, witches and demons to be exact.

With my nose guiding me to the right direction, I finally arrived to wood and metal scattered across the ground. It was a carriage. The first thing that came to my mind was Claire and I began to panic.

"Claire, where are you?!" I said as I ran towards the carriage.

When I was close enough the smell of blood was so strong I could taste it. Without a doubt I smelled coconut and she was here. Claire had to be here! Looking at the destroyed carriage I prayed she wasn't here in the carriage alone and injured nor worse...dying. Despite wanting to peek through the hole in the glass window, I hesistated. What if she was inside? What if she was hurt? What if she was dead? Those thoughts were discouraging and frightened me beyond belief. What if she was dead? How would I be able to tell her I am sorry?

I felt a tear fall down my cheek. There was only one way for me to find out. I peered through the hole of the mangled carriage only to see blood splatter everywhere. From what I could see. the carriage was empty which I was thankful for, but it didn't reassure me. I didn't see any bodies anywhere so I poped my head out of the carriage and began to follow a blood trail that I quickly picked up on. Whatever was at the end of the bloodtrail, was frightening me. It could have been anything. For some reason, I knew Claire would be at the end of the blood trail. If she was alone, there was no way she would be able to fight a wolf alone.

However when I cautiously walked to the end of the trail, I was surprised to see a dead body that wasn't Claire, but a wolf's. I looked down at the wolf covered in blood. His brown eyes were glazed over and he was staring right at me. His body was slowly transforming back as only parts of his body still had matted fur. I looked at the whole in his chest inspecting his stab wound until I stuck my hand inside his wound, coating my fingers with his blood. When I took my hand out, it was slippery and slightly warm.

"Claire was here, wasn't she?" I heard Mitri say from behind me.

"Yeah, she was and from the feel of this wolf's blood, she wasn't here too long ago. His blood is still  a bit warm."

"So she's close?" He asked.

I nodded, "A few hours ahead of us at most. We are close."

*Mitri's PoV*

It was such a relief to hear that. We had to find Claire as quick as possible. She had to come home, for everyone's sake, especially Damien's. Damien was beginning to fall apart as that iron wall he built around himself slowly began to crumble. If he didn't find her soon, he'd probably self-destruct. Damien would be either emotionally unstable or extremely harsh towards everyone. It was usually how he coped with traumatic experiences and I couldn't cope with him if that is what will happen.

Unlike Damien who was expecting the worst, I knew Claire was alive, injured possibly, but alive nonetheless. While thoughts were running rampant, my phone rang. It was my parents so I picked up.

"Hello, any luck finding her, mom?"

"Not yet. I feel like your father and I are on a wild goose chase. We haven't got even a single clue to if we are even headed in the right direction."

"Well, Damien found a destroyed carriage. There's a dead wolf who's blood is slightly warm and some of the blood splatter in the carriage smells a bit like Claire. I have no idea what happened, but we know Claire has at least been here. Damien said she may be a couple hours away."
