*Damien's PoV*

After I had told Kyle and Maple everything that has happened between Claire and I they stared at me like I had six heads. I guess I expected that expression because no one would have suspected that Claire had been my slave at the Royal Ball. We had played our roles so well a few days ago.

There was a long awkward silence until my cellphone rang causing everyone to look at it. I looked down to see Mitri calling and I hit the reject button. I didn't want to talk to him. Between my depression and anger I don't think it would be wise to deal with him. As soon as I hit the reject button, Mitri's name reappeared.

Refusal after refusal, Mitri's name appeared on my phone. I sighed knowing he wouldn't leave me alone so I decided to answer.

"What the hell do you want?"

"I just want to tell you that I'm sorry. I thought I was helping her, but I wasn't. I didn't know she was pregnant...or sick. Damien, you need to help us find her please."

"No, I'll find her on my own and without your help. I don't need you, not after what you've done."

My hand hovered over the end phone conversation button until he screamed in my ear.

"Wait! You don't understand I know where she is. She went to the Forbidden Town. This is no time for arguing so get your ass home to help us find her!"

After that I hung up. I was pissed that Mitri sent her to the Forbidden Town, but he was right. We needed to push our feelings aside and focus on the task at hand, although vampires wouldn't be able to get the job done. We would need allies, ones that could possibly go into the Forbidden Town and get her, but who knew what Claire looked like?

I averted my eyes from my phone and grinned mischeviously. It looked like I had the two perfect candidates right in front of me.

*Kyles PoV*

After Damien's phone call ended he gave Maple and I a mischievous grin. He was planning something and whatever it was I knew we were both a part if it.

"Mitri just called me and he told me that Claire went to the Forbidden Town. As you both know vampires can't go in there. Will you guys help me out? I'll do anything."

"What will you do to her when you find her? Kill her? Or will you torture her first, painfully and slowly before you kill your pregnant pet?" Maple inhaled bitterly.

"I understand how you feel and I regret all of it I do. If there was some way I could go back in time and fix all the mistakes I made then I would, but I can't. Call me an idiot or whatever you want, but I have to find her. Please help me look. There's a lot of ground that my family and I can't cover in this short amount of time."

*Damien's PoV*

I knew I shouldn't have told them the truth about what I had done to Claire.They both stood there starring at me until Maple stated her opinion on the whole matter.

I couldn't blame her for feeling that way, at times I felt that way too. I felt so hopeless and worthless, so stupid thanks to my selfishness.

"You'll do anything?" Kyle said.

I nodded.

"So if we agreed to this deal would you let me drink Claire's blood? I know it must be as sweet as she smelled."

"That's out of the question Kyle. I won't let anyone hurt her again. I'll try to keep her safe even if she's safest away from me. I won't be that monster lurking in the shadows waiting to feed from her. I don't want her blood, I want her love and that's all I need now. If you want her blood then I'll get her without your help."
