“Love is no game. It is no flowery softness. It is hard work, a quest that never ends.” - Cupid

I don’t know how I should start telling my story. I didn’t even consider it as something worth story-telling or something that a writer would even dare to write for a book.

There was nothing thrilling about my life. It was just as ordinary as everyone else's.

I grew up without a dad, which I know is already a usual situation for many. I lived with my mom and I have no siblings. She worked as a nurse in a private hospital. We had a simple life. I go to school (I am already a graduating Journalism student), and mom goes to work. We love spending time together every weekend. And eventhough I hadn’t seen my father, I couldn’t ask for more than having her in my life.

I have a best friend, who is also like a brother to me. His name is Harry Styles. He is sweet and a real gentleman; that’s why women adore him so much. And we know each other since we were in our junior year in high school.

Some would say we looked good together, like a real couple, and it was a ridiculous thought for me. Like, seriously?! Ha! But it wasn’t a big deal for either of us. We were happy with the kind of relationship we had. Like I already said, he was only a brother to me. And more importantly, he had a girlfriend. For me, they looked so perfect together as if they’d already found a soulmate in each other. They were destined to be together forever.

Destiny. Yes, I believed in that though I hadn’t had any experience with love. No Boyfriend since birth. Yes, that’s me! Sandra Byrne.

Within my 20 years of existence, no guy has asked me out yet. I couldn’t blame them. I’ve always been an invisible girl in their eyes. Who would dare to date someone like me? I am boring. I wasn’t girlfriend-material type of girl. I have no interest in fashion. I only loved spending time reading books or writing some love stories I wish I could have. A hopeless romantic type of girl. Yes, that’s me again. I am not gorgeous like those Hollywood stars I see in movies. And I know, I would never be like one of them. NEVER in my wildest dreams.

But, I know love can wait. It will happen at the right time. As they say, good things come to those who wait. Well, I wished it was something TRUE. ‘Cause honestly, my story was all about waiting for someone to come back. Someone who I first laid my eyes on.
