Chapter 12

Chapter 12:

Ash's POV:

The moment I saw my brother lunge at my mates neck I had lost control. No longer could I feel my limbs moving or my heart beating. It was an endless hole of deafening silence. I felt hollow, as if I had been pushed back to an endless cave. The feeling felt all too familiar. I knew I had no chance in gaining back control, so I gave up and simply watched what was happening as my body moved with its own accord.

I felt my wings stretch, and my fangs grow whilst still in my wolf form.  I could see myself attacking Ethan, destroying him. But he too shifted into his vampire and wolf and mimicked my attacks. He knew I was physically stronger than him, I had the blood of an angel, vampire and wolf inside of me. He only had vampire and wolf, that immediately gave me an advantage as I blocked his attacks with my wings. The battle only lasted minutes, but felt like days. I pinned my brother down as he struggled to get back up again.

'No' I linked him. I was finally getting some control back after the outburst. 'Stop' I commanded.

Reluctantly, he obeyed. 'Why not join me? I love you, Ash' he linked.

'Because what your doing is wrong. Go home brother, and don't come back'

'Join me, you will be treated like a queen' he promised. I removed my claws from his neck and began to walk away.

'I don't need you to treat me like a queen, I already found my king' I said as I walked off, slowly retracting my fangs and wings. The pack followed behind me, Dominic matching my pace. He nudged me to go left, and I obeyed my Alpha without protest. I noticed the Warriors head home, whilst we continued walking deeper into the forest. I shifted as we were walking, which caused Dominic to shift as well. I kept my eyes up north.

"Didn't I tell you not to follow?" He asked calmly.

"I knew how this was going to turn out, I know my brother. And I also know you had no chance against him" I stated.

"So you don't believe I am strong enough?" He questioned.

"I believe you are an Alpha for a reason no doubt, and you have indeed proved your strength. But I'm not sure if you noticed but my brother and I aren't just wolves"

"Tell me" he said.

"Tell you what?" I asked.

"Tell me how you became like this, tell me what happened with your pack, tell me about your brother, tell me everything" he begged. I sat down on a boulder just in front of a pond.

I thought about it - there was no harm in telling him. He was my mate. After a short debate, I turned to him.

"Okay"
