Just saw this prompt on writers digest. So I decided to make it my own! Pls enjoy.

I sighed as I decided to get up. A few bones pop and I'm pretty sure I discovered arthritis in my ankles.

I shut my laptop and started walking to my kitchen. I decided to make myself a cup of warm tea, that'll do. I started getting out the tea bag and got my mail outside my apartment door.

After putting my tea bag in the boiling water, I sit down and start reading the paper.

Head lines: Elizabeth Marrie, Malery Heller an Dan Howell- wait...

Dan? Dan was very confused to say the least. The only thing he got in the head lines for were good deeds. His latest were giving subs to the local firemen.

But that was a month ago...

Dan started looking at the paper down and up trying to solve the thing that he recently "did."

"...suspects say it was hard to tell who the man was but we think we found him...."

"...found the body next to a-"

Dan stopped reading. His heart was in his throat. How dare they accuse someone when they didn't even have good proof?!

He dropped the paper and felt his face become wan. He felt sick, his stomach churning, his head felt light. He didn't even do anything!

He started pacing for ten minutes and then let his body choose to sit him down in a chair. He was practically in a trance with himself.

Asking himself questions,

"I sleep walk sometimes. Was it that?!"

"Maybe it was something I did when I was unconscious. Or,-" Dan was interrupted by a banging on the door.

"Police! Open up!" Dan didn't even know anymore. He turned off the kettle and opened the door with one hand up the other gripped on the door handle.

He didn't even want to look up. He felt so disrespectful. So unwanted. Dan opened the door slowly,

"I'm here officer." Dan mumbled.

"Oh. Shit." The officer mumbled into his head set and Walkie talkie. "Wrong one."

You could hear mumbles through out his head set.

"No dammit we have the wrong one!" Dan was so confused of the cops yelling.

Why didn't he just take him in already. Dan sat down on his knees now with his hands up. He felt tears prick in his eyes.

He finally looked up at the cop. His eyes were a rich blue. So intense but you could tell he was very kind. His skin was pale as snow and his hair to contrast. His uniform fit him well.

Dan felt ashamed for checking out the cop but you couldn't really blame him. He looked him over and across, up and down.  Until he got interrupted,

"Excuse me." Dan shook his head.

"Y-yes officer? Do you mind me asking why you haven't put." Dan shivered. "Cuffs on me yet."

"I'm really sorry sir. It seems to be that we had the wrong Dan Howell. My apologies." The cop offered his hand to Dan which Dan took hesitantly.

"I'm- I beg your pardon officer."

"Well, another Dan Howell committed a crime. We got the wrong house. My deepest apologies."

Dan stood shocked. He started letting out little tears of relief and half because he still was terribly mortified.

"O-oh. Feel free to come I-in officer." The officer gave Dan a pitiful look and came in hesitantly.
