it had been almost ten minutes since connor left tyler's bedroom. surely it doesn't take one that long to get punch, does it? troye was beginning to grow wary as the minutes dragged by and connor still wasn't there.

troye cautiously opened the bedroom door and was immediately greeted by the pumping music and shouts downstairs. at first listen it sounded like what it had been before: a fun, albeit rowdy party. but there was a key note of aggression in the calls and shouts- was that connor's name being thrown around they heard?

troye sped down the stairs and looked around the corner, searching for connor amongst the tightly packed groups of people. a collective cry rang out from the corner of the room.

"connor?!" troye yelled, standing on their toes in hopes of seeing over everyone's heads. it was on vain though, as they still couldn't see who they were looking for.

they sifted hurriedly through the crowd, calling 'sorry!' behind them every time they bumped into a person.

"connor?!" they called again, more frantic this time. where could he be? what of he was in trouble?

another 'ooooh' erupted from the far side. could that be where he was?

troye pushed through the crowd, forgetting all politeness. there was a clearing in the middle of it all, and the group surrounding the two in the middle were inching forwards towards the drama.

and there he was: connor, and... wait, who was that? connor was standing there with his fists clenched by his sides, body radiating anger. the other boy had long brown hair and blue eyes... he looked so familiar. did he go to their school? no- maybe they'd seen him around town...?

and then it hit them.

it was nash.

nash grier, that same bratty eight year old who broke all of troye's barbies and pulled on their hair. he was the devil in disguise.

troye pushed forward through the wall of people surrounding connor and nash and rushed to connor, holding onto his arm tightly.

"what the hell is happening?" troye asked, voice low out of fear of nash hearing.

before connor could get a word out, nash stepped forward and smiled menacingly at the both of them.

"so," he began, an awful sneer creasing his thin lips. "i was right, wasn't i?"

a few of his friends hung around him, laughing and spitting profanities at the pair.

"fuck off, nash," troye snarled. they grabbed connor by the waist and attempted to pulled him back, but connor stood his ground.

"go home," connor breathed. his voice was high and panicky, strained even. terrified.

"what? con, i- i'm staying with you, i-"

"i said go home," he begged, gently pushing troye away from himself.

"yeah!" nash yelled, stepping closer to the pair and making troye move protectively closer back to connor. "go home, we don't need two fags in this house."

the same whoops and hollers troye had heard earlier arose from the surrounding group again. nash's friends echoed his words.

"back off nash," connor said, spitting at his feet.

"or what?" he challenged. "look at you- thinkin' you're all tough because you're standing up for your girlfriend?"

"troye isn't my girlfriend!" connor fumed, clenching his fists tighter than before to keep them from swinging at nash.
