Kageyama's POV

"What the hell are you doing to my head?"

The void consumes me, as the eve deepens. Midnight soon arises, and I was unable to escape the void of endless memories of the eve. It beckoned me to its trap, slowly alluring me to the abyss of insomnia, to drown in endless memories of her.

Why?

Why is she always in my mind?

Why are her violet irises haunting me every time I close my eyes?

I'm not.....

"Aish! Stop thinking like this, Tobio!" I chided myself, ruffling my hair as I desperately tried to sleep.

I spent the rest of the night, tossing and turning, not getting even a wink of sleep.

The moment my eyes drooped in exhaustion, the golden needles of morning painted the view outside.

"Seriously, what's wrong with me?'

---------------

"Another attack? Is it Aoba Johsai?" I inquired to General Sawamura.

The general shook his head. He seemed bewildered from what's going on, from what he was about to tell me.

"It... It is not Aoba Johsai, sir." he said,  shock visible on his visage.

Something was odd. Usually, the General is calm and collected when it come to matter like this. But now, he's nervous. And it's making me uneasy.

"C-continue." I stuttered, unusually out of character.

He cleared his throat and directed his gaze to the ground. Then, he met my eyes, the look of his orbs making me anxious.

"Rebels, sir. Mahika Dilim users, calling themselves, Hukbong Sandatatahan ng Kadiliman(1)."

Rebels.

Mahika Dilim users.

They're plotting against me and the Mataas.

This is the worst thing I can think of that can happen to Karasuno.

"What happened?" I asked, trying my best to remain calm.

The General hung his head, obviously saddened by the news he was about to give me.

"They... they destroyed a large part of Sendai." he said hesitantly.

Sendai?

The Kendous!

How are they? Are they safe? Did they survive the dispute?

"Give me a report, General."

He nodded, and proceeded to tell me everything.

"The rebels attacked Sendai at exactly 10:34 in the morning. Towns in Sendai, like Kaori, Juniyo and Garase were destroyed completely, while the town of Hikaru was partly damaged. Exactly 476 casualties occurred, and there is a rumored hostage of 190 Ordinario."

I buried my face in my hands in sorrow.

This was another thing that reminded me that I was a failure. That I wasn't a good enough leader. That I wasn't worthy to be king.

Why am I such a failure?

"Find a way to find them. Throw them in the dungeons if you do. Supply the survivors with enough food, and make sure to rebuild their shelters as soon as possible." I ordered.

The general bowed, and I saluted him as he went on his way.

That's the least I can do for them.

I wish the Kendous were safe and sound.

I sighed and put my chin in my hand, lost in thought once more,

Then came Kiyoko, her stoic expression never fazing as she walked toward me.

"What is it?" I said, in monotone.

She broke into a smile, which was rare for her.

"She's awake now."

Strangely enough, I broke into a wide grin.

It was out of character for me, which was weird.
